Since revealing its mysterious teaser site simply titled Platinum 4, PlatinumGames' plans have been speculated upon in great detail by the developer's numerous fans. Some thought that the site was an indicator of a new branch of PlatinumGames dedicated to self-publishing games, while others theorized that it was potentially setting up a port of The Wonderful 101.  It appears the site was actually teasing four big new games, with the Wonderful 101  remaster being the first of the new lineup.

It appears fans now know more about the second project from Platinum 4's teaser website. Announced by PlatinumGames in a Famitsu article, it seems the next title currently in development at the company is under the name "Project GG" and will supposedly be headed up by legendary game director Hideki Kamiya. Alongside the announcement, Platinum also shared a number of details better highlighting what this new game will be.

Firstly, Kamiya's project will be the first self-published title to come from PlatinumGames, which is a big step for the studio stemming from its recent Tencent investment. It will also allegedly be the last entry in Platinum's "hero trilogy," with Wonderful 101  and Viewtiful Joe  seemingly being alluded to as the first two games in the trio. Seeing as Kamiya worked closely on both of those titles, it seems fitting that he will close out the trilogy by bringing Project GG to life. The game will supposedly target all existing platforms, which is no doubt going to be a big moneymaker for Platinum's first official self-published title.

Alongside the announcement and these details, PlatinumGames also teased what fans can expect from the final two games of Platinum 4, with the mysterious projects seeming incredibly exciting. Supposedly, the last of these new titles will be something that's "secret and interesting", sparking many fans to speculate over what this mysterious final project could be. Some have hoped that it'll be something related to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance,  the popular Metal Gear  spinoff that Platinum worked on in 2013, while others are hoping it'll be a Nier remake or sequel.

Some are even wondering whether this brand new project could be the resurrection of Scalebound  that Platinum has admitted it would love to do. That would no doubt fit the bill of being an "interesting" project, however, recent news seems to indicate that the ill-fated Xbox exclusive may be nigh-impossible to bring back right now. Whatever Platinum's interesting new title is, it no doubt sits alongside project GG as a game to watch going into the next generation.

Project GG  is in development now for all existing consoles with an unspecified release date.
