  • Bloodborne is loved by many fans, and is still considered one of the best games made by FromSoftware.

Sony is celebrating PlayStation by running a fan poll and bracket, but some gamers have noticed that Bloodborne was left off the list. FromSoftware's action RPG launched back in 2015, bringing the Dark Souls style of brutal combat to a new setting, and blowing away fans. Since then, the developer has released several more titles that have also won acclaim from gamers and critics, but Bloodborne still holds a special place in the hearts of lots of players.

This month, Sony has been giving fans a chance to experience some nostalgia by voting for some of their favorite games from the history of PlayStation, and determining which ones advance up a bracket to be crowned champion. The bracket includes classics like The Last of Us, God of War, and Horizon Zero Dawn. It also features some newer titles, like God of War Ragnarok, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which are often considered some of the best games of the 2020s. Sadly, for some, the poll lacks one important option.

FromSoftware Boss Comments on Fans Wanting a Bloodborne Remake

As fans hope for a PS5 remake of Bloodborne, FromSoftware President Hidetaka Miyazaki finally comments on the community's demands.

While Sony's PlayStation game poll and bracket offers lots of great selections, Bloodborne is notably absent from the list. This is something that lots of fans immediately noted in the replies to the tweet that announced the poll. While some gamers certainly had other things to say, replying with their thoughts on the selections and their picks for which should win, a significant number of Twitter users chose to voice their disappointment that FromSoftware's action RPG didn't make the cut. Given that it's still considered by some to be one of the developer's best titles, with a Bloodborne remaster looking like a possibility in the future, its absence does seem to be a considerable oversight.

PlayStation Poll Coming Down to the God of War Titles

The polling has been going on since mid-March, and lots of games have already been eliminated. Returnal lost out to Marvel's Spider-Man and Horizon Zero Dawn fell to Ghosts of Tsushima. The last round of voting, which will end on March 19, sees 2018's God of War and its sequel going head-to-head for the championship. God of War Ragnarok took PlayStation Blog's Game of the Year award after it released, making it and its predecessor understandable choices to have made it to the finals.

The PlayStation poll is making for a fun activity for fans online and is sparking lots of good debate. Bloodborne failing to make the cut, however, appears to be overshadowing the activity for some. It may be nearly a decade old, but the game is still beloved by many. Indeed, Bloodborne is set to see a mass return of fans later this month. It may not be in the bracket, but it still ranks high in the minds of many gamers.
