Although previously available in every Pokemon generation since its introduction, Steelix is unobtainable in the latest generation titles. While that may eliminate players' go-to option for a strong defensive Steel-type Pokemon, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Orthworm may have usurped Steelix in that particular role going forward.

An artistically talented Pokemon TCG fan is being lauded for their unique Butterfree card design with a distinctive art style.
The remarkable 3D-printed Steelix card comes from Reddit user who goes by shaquiquigames, posting it onto one of the site's major Pokemon pages. Likely taking design cues from the purple-tinged hue of Steelix's original sprite, the card face features the same moveset and design as its first edition. Within the illustration box's opening is a 3D-printed, translucent model of Steelix, illuminated with a light integrated into the display. The series of photos appear to show the illumination shifting from purple to pink, and while differing from Standard Steelix's silver or Shiny Steelix's gold coloring, adds even more visual interest.
Nearly 300 other fans of Pokemon have liked the illuminated 3D Steelix card, with several asking the creator to make additional Pokemon. While the 3D-printed Steelix card is certainly a creative use for a 3D printer, they aren't the only fan to come up with Pokemon ideas. Recently, another Pokemon fan used a 3D printer to build a 4-foot tall Mewtwo statue. The statue, especially when compared to something such as the Steelix card, is absolutely massive, with the creation weighing in at a whopping 40 pounds, with its creator stating that it used over 600 dollars of filament.
