A Pokemon fan artist took to social media to share their acrylic painting of Gengar, which was made using a mix of purple and other colors on a canvas. The Pokemon painter was complimented by other fans for their handiwork and their use of different colors to bring their Gengar painting to life.

Known as the Shadow Pokemon, Gengar was introduced in Pokemon Red and Blu e. As the final evolution of Gastly and Haunter, Gengar is among the first Ghost-type Pokemon in the franchise. Gengar stands out among other Pokemon due to its menacing grin and large, red eyes contrasting with its dark purple body. Though its first generation of moves was limited, Gengar eventually gained access to moves like Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, and Sludge Bomb over future iterations. In Pokemon X and Y, Gengar received a Mega Evolution form that enhanced its special attack and speed stats. Mega Gengar will join other Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Legends: Z-A in October.

July 14 is Going to Be a Big Day for Pokemon Sleep

Pokemon Sleep reveals that July 14 is going to be a big day for the sleep-tracking game, and fans won't want to miss the opportunity.

Gengar's popularity and reputation as a reliable Ghost-type Pokemon in battle have made it the subject of different fan creations over the years. On the Pokemon subreddit, a Reddit user named Unclegrandpa shared an acrylic of the Shadow Pokemon for all to see. The painting was created on a canvas measuring 14 inches by 14 inches, and different shades of purple, black, pink, white, black, and yellow paints were used in its composition. Gengar stood facing left as pink and white paint blended in the background to serve as a contrast. Gengar's spiked body was further emphasized by the acrylic paint mixtures, which gave off the illusion of ruffled edges to further emphasize its reputation as the Shadow Pokemon. Its bright smile was replaced with shorter and sharper teeth, and three white claws were added to each of its hands.

Pokemon Fan Shares Amazing Acrylic Gengar Painting

Although Gengar is normally seen with red eyes, Unclegrandpa took a different approach with their painting, as they changed Gengar's eyes to yellow. The eye color change is similar to the one used for its Gigantamax form from Pokemon Sword and Shield. In response, some Pokemon trainers praised Unclegrandpa for their handiwork and complimented how the paint was applied on Gengar to make it stand out with its fierce and battle-ready appearance. Gengar's eye color change did not go unnoticed, as others pointed out the stylistic choices made.

Despite being one of the oldest Pokemon in the franchise, fan artists continue to share creative tributes to Gengar and its previous forms. It remains to be seen what Pokemon fans will craft leading up to the launch of Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
