A Pokemon fan artist assembled a suit of armor made from the image of the draconic Garchomp and shared the finished cosplay on social media for all to see. The Pokemon fan artist also included a scythe shaped like one of Garchomp's claws as a prop weapon to go with their cosplay, and other trainers complimented them on their efforts.
Known as the Mach Pokemon, Garchomp first appeared in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl as the pseudo-legendary monster of the Sinnoh region. Garchomp is the fully evolved form of Gible and Gabite, and has the dual types of Ground and Dragon to match its ferocious visage. As the signature Pokemon of Sinnoh League Champion Cynthia, Garchomp can use moves like Earthquake, Outrage, and Crunch with efficiency due to its high speed and physical attack stats. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, trainers could challenge Garchomp the Unrivaled in a Seven-Star Tera Raid battle held throughout May 2025.

A couple that met by playing Pokemon GO are given an unusual opportunity and end up tying the knot by getting married at Pokemon GO Fest.
Although Pokemon fan tributes to Garchomp have been made before, one trainer crafted a suit of cosplay armor that bears the Mach Pokemon's visage. On the r/Pokemon subreddit, a Reddit user named KPopstarAhri, also known as WendyYukki on Instagram, shared her Armored Garchomp cosplay that she wore to the 2025 edition of Katsucon, held in February at National Harbor, Maryland. Garchomp's head was reshaped to look like a knight's flat-domed helmet, with an open mouth and additional eye slots to provide KPopstarAhri with room to see and breathe through it. Garchomp's orange chest and blue arms were depicted on the breastplate along with layered shoulder pads. Garchomp's tail was added to the rear, along with leg plates that had spikes across the front. KPopstarAhri stated that she used a mix of EVA foam and Worbla for the Garchomp armor rather than actual metals.

Rather than cover her hands with Garchomp's claws, KPopstarAhri used one of the Mach Pokemon's claws as the basis for a two-handed scythe that she carried as a prop weapon. The scythe had a gray-colored blade fixed to a blue handle that matched Garchomp's scale color. In response, some r/ Pokemon users complimented KPopstarAhri for her handiwork, while others compared the Garchomp armor cosplay to sets seen in other games like Monster Hunter.
While Pokemon trainers have shown off cosplays based on Gym Leaders like Sabrina and Misty in the past, a suit of armor based on a powerful Pokemon is not a common sight. It remains to be seen what Pokemon fans will craft next.
