Despite only having been on the market for three weeks, Pokemon TCG Pocket is already setting some incredible records for the franchise.

Taking to Reddit, a user known as JuicySpark shared a strange incident that occurred when they were mailed their son’s Pokemon TCG cards. As the person explained, they mailed a Pokemon starter kit and some protective sleeves for the cards, along with other gifts, to their mother’s house in Florida, where they would be going for vacation. The cards were meant to be a present for their sons, which they didn’t want to carry around. However, once there, the child forgot the cards, and the grandmother sent them back through the mail. But when the package arrived, instead of 15 cards, there were only 3.

Pokemon Cards Swapped in the Mail for Japanese/Korean Cards

At first, it seemed like someone had stolen the Pokemon TCG cards. However, the envelope now contained 3 different cards that didn’t belong to the original set that was sent. Adding to the strangeness of the situation, the cards were written in Japanese (the ones they originally mailed were in English) and came with hard-cover sleeves.

After doing some research, the person found out that the swapped cards couldn’t be found in the English set they had bought before, only through third-party retailers. What completely puzzled the person was that the value of the Pokemon TCG set they originally mailed was pretty much the same as the 3 new cards they received. The player's conclusion about this weird situation is that maybe someone in the postal service swapped them because the cards were severely damaged, or someone stole them but wanted to replace them with something else.

A player in the comments noticed that only one of the three new cards was Japanese, while the other two were Korean. Many other Reddit users supported the theory that an office worker saw the cards were damaged and decided to replace them with cards from another lost package. Whatever the explanation may be, it's good to know the replaced cards were worth the same as the stolen ones.
