A new collection of Crocs shoes inspired by the designs of several fan-favorite characters from Pokemon's first generation could hit markets soon, according to a report. Aside from Crocs, Pokemon has collaborated with other footwear companies in the past, including Adidas, ASICS, Clarks, Converse, FILA, and PUMA.
Pokemon, which is one of the highest-selling video game franchises of all time, is no stranger to special partnerships with other brands and properties. The series has collaborated with New Balance, Oreo, Grand Hyatt, Uniqlo, and Krispy Kreme, among many others, just within the first half of 2024. Pokemon also teamed up with American footwear giant Crocs to release Pikachu-themed shoes earlier this year, and it seems more designs are on the way.
Tekken and Nike Team Up for Surprising Collaboration
Bandai Namco and Nike are teaming up in a new Tekken anniversary crossover project that is surprisingly fitting for one main character.
Four new Crocs Classic Clogs, each based on a specific Pokemon from the series' first generation, will be released sometime in 2024, according to the sneaker-focused website Sole Retriever. The featured monsters are supposedly Charizard, Gengar, and Snorlax, considered to be some of the strongest Generation 1 Pokemon, as well as Jigglypuff. A pair of shoes from this collaboration, which will also come with Jibbitz charms designed around the characters' unique traits and associated imagery, should carry a $70 price tag once they become available at official Crocs channels and retailers. These Pokemon-themed shoes will come in men's sizes, according to Sole Retriever.
Crocs, one of the world’s largest footwear companies in terms of market cap, regularly releases collaborative designs, such as the incredibly cute Hello Kitty X Crocs collection that was launched in January. More recently, the shoe brand partnered up with Irish fashion designer Simone Rocha, streetwear label CLOT, and McDonald's to produce limited-edition products.

As for Pokemon, the series has an ongoing collaboration with Japanese detergent brand Yashinomi, as well as the cafe chain PRONTO. The Summer 2024 Pokemon line of Uniqlo shirts under the fast-fashion juggernaut's UT brand is also set to be released in July. Pokemon Legends: Z-A, the next mainline entry in Game Freak's long-running series of RPGs, is scheduled to be released on the Nintendo Switch in 2025. This upcoming Pokemon title will be part of the franchise's ongoing ninth generation, but it will be set in the Kalos region that acted as the backdrop of the Generation 6 games. Pokemon Legends: Z-A, in particular, will take place in Lumiose City, which is based on the French capital of Paris.
