A creative Pokemon fan gave their Kindle a clever makeover, giving it a customized Gen 1 Pokedex look. Players often come up with unique ways to bring the world of Pokemon to life and reference their favorite elements of the series.
After almost thirty years since its debut, the Pokemon series has some of the most iconic objects in video game history. Aside from Poke Balls and gym badges, an instantly recognizable item is the Pokedex. Every Pokemon region has its own Pokedex design, but all share the same purpose of revealing the personality and background of every monster available. Some Pokedex are more futuristic than others, like the Kalos flat-screen that splits in half, while others have a friendlier design, such as the Alolan Rotom Pokedex. However, perhaps one of the most famous Pokedex belongs to Kanto, which was made popular thanks to the early 2000s anime. One Pokemon fan envisioned their ebook reader as a Pokedex and shared it with the community.
Pokemon Fan Gives Mega Dragonite a Gen 5 Style Makeover
Mega Dragonite gets a beautiful, pixelated redesign in the style of Gen 5 games, Pokemon Black and White, from an artistic fan.
User BionicRogue21 posted their latest Kindle case, which they customized to look like a Kanto Pokedex. According to the fan, they assembled their cover using cardstock of various colors. The result was an accurate rendition of a closed Gen 1 Pokedex from the series. They also asked fellow players for ideas of clever names for it, to which a fan suggested "e-Dex," a combination of e-reader and Pokedex, while another recommended KindleDex. The post currently has over 1.6k upvotes, and several comments praised BionicRogue21 for their creativity. This isn't the first time that a fan has envisioned a real-life device as a Pokemon item. Another talented player once made a 3D-printed Pokedex iPhone Controller that worked well with different games.
Pokemon Fan Creates Unique Pokedex-themed Kindle Cover
The Pokemon franchise continues to add monsters to its roster, but longtime players regularly pay tribute to the very first Pokedex of the series. One fan took nostalgia to another level and built a Pokedex Game Boy DS. The console was fully functional and played multiple Pokemon titles up to Gen 5. The Pokemon community is a very active one, and fans share new incredible creations every day. With the upcoming release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, players will likely see more amazing fan artworks based on the game as well.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A is set to launch on October 16, and while it won't introduce Gen 10, the game is expected to add new Mega Evolutions. Pokemon Legends: Z-A recently unveiled Mega Dragonite, for example, which has received mixed reactions. More Mega Evolutions will likely be revealed in the coming months, expanding the current Pokedex even more.
