The creative fan is taking Legendaries from Pokemon Sun and Moon and combining them with those from Pokemon Sword and Shield to create entirely new pocket monsters. When it comes to Pokemon fan art, fusing two creatures together is a fairly common practice, but Legendaries can be difficult to combine as they feature some of the most complex designs in the series.
The seventh generation is considered to have some of the best mainline Pokemon games in the entire franchise. The Pokemon Sword and Shield games, on the other hand, have received criticism, but there are still plenty of fan-favorite designs that emerged from the contentious titles. Some of the most beloved creatures from that generation come from both the starters and the Legendaries, making them prime targets for a fun reimagining.
Reddit user Mindrawz has taken Legendary Pokemon from the franchise's seventh and eighth generations and fused them in several pieces of creative fan art. The artist used some of the most beautiful Legendary Pokemon and reimagined them as entirely new creatures. Mindrawz combines Zacian with Lunala, Zamazenta with Solgaleo, Eternatus with Necrozma, Regidrago with Tapu-Koko, Regice with Tapu-Fini, Regieleki with Tapu-Bulu, Registeel with Tapu-Lele, Regirock with Magearna, Regigigas with Silvally, and Urshifu with Zeraora. Also, the artist shows what the shiny variant of each would look like in the bottom right corner of each piece.
Of all the pieces pictured, the combinations of Zamazenta and Solgaleo along with Urshifu with Zeraora stand out as favorites among the comments. Mindrawz has been fairly active in the community as of late, sharing all sorts of fusion pieces. Just recently, the artist showcased even more impressive Legendary Pokemon fusions, combining the Legendary Birds of Kanto with the Forces of Nature from Unova.
Again, fusing two Pokemon is a common trope in the fan art community. That being said, Mindrawz has distinguished themself thanks to their strong sense of design. While some artists separate themselves by creating endearingly random Pokemon fusion designs, Mindrawz imagines new creatures that feel as though they fit within the official canon.
The next big release for fans of the franchise is Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Indigo Disk DLC, which launches on December 14. Of the many new features that have players excited, it has been announced that past starter Pokemon are returning for the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC. Additionally, the update will offer fresh story missions and introduce a new Legendary Pokemon.
