A fantastic artist from the Pokemon community has shared some conceptual designs that imagine what certain Pokemon evolutions would look like if they merged with Shellder, including a creative custom Eeveelution. These fanmade Pokemon designs are clearly inspired by the Slowbro family, with this fan-favorite critter featuring two different evolutions throughout the core-series Pokemon games that both fuse with a different Pokemon, Shellder.

Artwork such as this demonstrates how creativity within the Pokemon community really is inexhaustible. Despite Eevee being one of the oldest critters in the Pokemon series, dating back all the way to the original Gen 1 titles, it remains the subject of countless pieces of fan art nearly 30 years later. This isn't too surprising, though, as Eevee's sheer cuteness and unique evolutionary flexibility hasn't just made it a resounding fan-favorite, but also a mascot of the franchise as a whole. The Pokemon officially reached this level of popularity when it got a game of its own alongside Pikachu back in 2018 with the Let's Go, Pikachu! And Let's Go, Eevee! Games.

Pokemon Fan Redesigns All Eeveelutions as Adorable Bears

A talented Pokemon fan creates artwork depicting new versions for all eight Eeveelutions and the original Eevee inspired by cute bears.

Although it seemed as though fans had already imagined every possible Eeveelution that might come in some future Pokemon game or another, one artist known online as PhantomLink2782 recently shared a truly unique Eeveelution design of their own creation. This hypothetical member of the Eevee family has been named Crusteon, and uses the Water and Poison-types thanks to it merging with Shellder. This Slowking-inspired design covers much of this Eeveelution's body in shell plating, sporting a mostly purple coloration that reflects the Pokemon's Poison-type. The artist behind this concept also shared a shiny variant of the design, though, which boasts a similar color palette to Lapras.

This Awesome Eeveelution is a Testament to the Pokemon Community's Creativity

Eevee wasn't the only Pokemon to see a custom evolution with these fanmade designs, though, with the creator also sharing similar Shellder-themed redesigns of Azumarill and Psyduck. Custom evolutions, redesigns, and unofficial "fakemon" designs are incredibly popular among the community, although Pokemon fans have created countless Eevee-related designs in particular, largely because many fans like to imagine what potential future Eeveelutions based on other types could look like.

Though many remain hopeful that future Pokemon games will introduce some new Eeveelutions down the line, the Normal-type critter hasn't actually received a new evolution in over a decade. The last official Eeveelution fans saw was the Fairy-type Sylveon, which was introduced alongside the type itself in Pokemon X and Y. As it happens, players will actually be returning to the Kalos region later this year in the upcoming Pokemon Legends: Z-A, though it doesn't seem like the region will be introducing a new Eeveelution this time around.
