A Pokemon fan has created an incredible animation highlighting Cyndaquil and each of its evolutions. Cyndaquil is Pokemon Gen 2's Fire-type starter, and this fan animation uniquely commemorates it.

Since Pokemon Gold and Silver were released, Gen 2 has become a fan-favorite generation largely thanks to it featuring two full regions. While Pokemon Red and Blue are set in the Kanto region, Pokemon Gold and Silver allow players to return to Kanto three years after the events of Gen 1. Beyond featuring the Kanto Pokemon and region, Gen 2 is also widely recognized for its unique additions to the Pokedex. Some Gen 2 Pokemon that became popular party choices are Ampharos, Smeargle, Shuckle, and Tyranitar. One gamer has decided to commemorate their enthusiasm for Cyndaquil by making an incredible animation of its evolution.

Reddit user Moreirasart recently shared a clip of their Pokemon animation detailing their version of how Cyndaquil evolves. The clip begins with the Pokemon Gen 2 starter sitting on the ground with yellow and orange flames protruding from its back. After getting to its feet, the Cyndaquil flips in the air, becoming the much taller Quilava which separates its back inferno into a fiery tail and hair. Quilava remains stationary as it looks upward then flexes into the final evolution, Typhlosion, which lets out a big roar upon completion. This final evolution is a more seamless transition than the one showing Cyndaquil becoming Quilava but it resembles an anime hero like Dragon Ball Z's Goku or One Piece's Luffy.

This Pokemon Animation Shows Cyndaquil Evolving

Once Pokemon Gold and Silver players choose Cyndaquil as their starter Pokemon, their rival chooses the Gen 2 Water-type starter, Totodile. Both Pokemon become formidable battle opponents by the time they reach their final evolution, with Typhlosion having slightly higher base stats than Feraligatr. Cyndaquil has reached a broader audience by being featured as one of the Pokemon Legends: Arceus starter Pokemon alongside Oshawott and Rowlet. In Pokemon Gold and Silver, Cyndaquil will evolve into Quilava at level 14, with Quilava evolving into Typhlosion at level 36. This is changed in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, where Cyndaquil evolves into Quilava at level 17, with the Typhlosion evolution level remaining 36.

As Pokemon Gen 2 has become a focus of many fan art projects, Moreirasart may continue working on animations beyond the Cyndaquil evolutions. With Game Freak continuing the Pokemon series, future Pokemon may become as popular in the community as the Gen 2 Fire-type starter.
