The Pokemon franchise has expanded tenfold since its 90s debut, offering nine generations of pocket monsters thus far, and the tenth roster is due to debut soon. Furthermore, the IP will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026, which many believe would be the perfect time to reveal Generation 10.

In keeping with the nursery theme, Pokemon GO hosted the Growing Up event recently, featuring Baby Pokemon that kicked off back in Generation 2, and players of the augmented reality mobile game still have plenty of content to look forward to in the coming months, including the Final Strike finale of the Might and Mastery season and Pokemon GO Fest 2025 Global in June.

Pokemon fans have a packed year ahead, spanning the main staples of the IP: the trading card game, the ongoing anime, and Nintendo’s video game series. Pokemon GO fans will welcome the Legendary Pokemon Urshifu’s debut on May 21, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is scheduled to release some time this year on Nintendo Switch systems, and tabletop fans have a slew of trading card expansions to cash in on as well, including Destined Rivals arriving at the end of May and June’s White Flare and Black Bolt releases.
