A fan of the Pokemon series shared their idea of what Infernape would look like if it were to receive a Mega Evolution. Over the past few Generations, Game Freak's legendary RPG series has introduced different ways for pocket monsters to transform in the midst of battle. One of these methods is the Mega Evolution of Pokemon, which was utilized in Generation 6 of the franchise.

Infernape is the final evolution of Chimchar, the starter Pokemon of the series' 4th Generation. The creature gains the secondary Fighting-Type upon evolution and landed itself a spot on Ash's team in the franchise's anime. The Pokemon is seemingly influenced by the main character of the Chinese epic Journey to the West, who is a monkey with powerful abilities.

A Reddit user named MarceloGiribaldi posted their take on what Infernape would look like if it were able to Mega Evolve. The design sees the mane on the Fire-Type Pokemon grow significantly, while its tail becomes enflamed. Its upper body is covered in white fur that is much longer than what is seen in its base form. MarceloGiribaldi also provided a Shiny version for Mega Infernape, which sees its flames and parts of its body become pink.

MarceloGiribaldi's take on Mega Infernape has earned a few fans since it was posted. One Redditor said that the fire mane to tail looked really cool, but that they do not have any faith in Game Freak when it comes to making a 3D render of the design. Another gamer gave the Mega Evolution a few additional details like its combat stats, which focus on high speed and attack. The player also gave Mega Infernape the ability Gorilla Tactics, which would see its attack go up even higher. It is an interesting take on the classic Pokemon and helps give it a new perspective for those who have been a fan of the pocket monster since its inception.

Infernape is not the only Pokemon to gain a new form from MarceloGiribaldi. The artist has touched on a variety of different pocket monsters, including Wailord, Milotic, and Jirachi. MarceloGiribaldi is showing that there is still a lot of potential when it comes to Mega Evolutions, as there are a lot of Pokemon that can benefit from it. It is unknown if Game Freak will ever come back to the Mega Evolution mechanic, as they have moved on to other transformations in the most recent entries in the series. If the form does come back, there are definitely a lot of possibilities that the developer can play with as there are numerous Pokemon to choose from.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are currently available for Switch.
