With the recent release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, fans of the series were delightfully surprised when Gen 9 games, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, were announced a couple of weeks ago. The upcoming Nintendo Switch games are expected to come out at the end of the year. While there are many unknown things about these recently revealed titles, the new starter Pokemon were introduced at the end of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's trailer, and a lot of fans have been making their own artwork of the three.
Sprigatito, a green cat, is the Generation's Grass-type starter, Quaxly, a white duck with a blue hat, is the Generation's Water-type starter, and Fuecoco, an orange crocodile, is the Generation's Fire-type starter. All three of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's starters have been praised since they were first revealed and a lot of fans have been sparked with creativity to make their own projects surrounding the three.
One Reddit user, GenericOnlineName, has made fan art that welcomes Fuecoco to the series. While many creative fans have made artwork of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's starters all together or on their own, GenericOnlineName took a different approach by putting Fuecoco with the other Fire-type starters throughout the franchise.
In the image, Fuecoco is surrounded by the Fire-type starters from previous Generations. While Tepig, Cyndaquil, Chimchar, Scorbunny, Fennekin, Torchic, and Charmander are all smiling at Fuecoco, excited to be with him, Litten, Gen 7's Fire-type cat starter, couldn't care less and simply opens one eye while laying down. Many fans that have seen this fan art point out that Litten stays true to character as it is a lazy cat, while also stating how much they like GenericOnlineName's artwork.
GenericOnlineName has uploaded a lot of other art on Reddit. Another one of their Pokemon pieces is similar to this one, showing the Grass-type starters from older Generations surrounding and welcoming Sprigatito. They have also said that they will be making one with the Water-types next.
While fans wait for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to come out, some of them have been making their own artwork for others to enjoy. As more Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are shown throughout the months leading up to its release, there will hopefully be a lot more fan art of them to enjoy.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are expected to come out at the end of 2022 on the Nintendo Switch.
