A Pokemon fan has recently created an incredible fusion of Feraligatr and Tyranitar. While fusions are not available in official mainline Pokemon games, they are quite popular in fan art.
Both Feraligatr and Tyranitar first appeared in the second generation of Pokemon games. The Water-type Feraligatr is the last evolution of the starter Totodile, which becomes Croconaw at Level 18, and then Feraligatr by Level 30. The Dark/Ground-type Tyranitar, on the other hand, can only be acquired by leveling Pupitar to Level 55.
Pokemon Fan Devises Cubone Ability Form
A talented Pokemon fan creates an artwork with three new forms for the Ground-type Cubone based on the abilities of the Gen 1 creature.
Now, a Pokemon fan called CaligoMilites shared their latest work with the community, a fusion of Tyranitar and Feraligatr called Tyranigatr. The result is a Water/Ground-type lizard-like creature with dark green scales and blue spikes on its back. Tyranigatr’s face seems inspired by both of the original critters, with Feraligatr’s jaws, and a Tyranitar-inspired forehead. The fan art also comes with a shiny form, which uses Feraligatr’s colors as the base, instead of Tyranitar’s.
Feligatr and Tyranitar Fusion Pokemon Fan Art
This is not the only recent Pokemon fusion fan art made by CaligoMilites. Earlier this week, the prolific Pokemon fan artist made a fusion of Raikou and the Hisuian Arcanine. In this fan art, which was named Raicanine, the artist fused Raikou's long mane with Arcanine’s fur, designing an amazing canine beast.
Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal were incredibly popular in the early 2000s, and many old-school fans still love Gen 2 creatures. A few months ago, for instance, a fan designed new regional variants for Tyranitar and the rest of its evolutionary line. Inspired by the idea of “crystal Pokemon,” the fan re-imagined Larvitar, Pupitar, and Tyranitar as Ground/Steel-type monsters with blue, white, and grey colors, achieving an incredible result.
Last year, another fan designed a Normal-type Feraligatr. It was a pretty neat idea, as Feraligatr is obviously based on real-world alligators, and the fan redesigned the creature to look more like one, changing its blue colors to more realistic ones and removing the spikes on its back, but still keeping the most important aspects of the design intact. While the Gen 2 games were originally released over 20 years ago, fans still love them, so it’s likely that Pokemon fans will see even more fan art of its creatures soon.
