The following article contains potential spoilers for Pokemon Gen 10.

The 10th-generation Pokemon box art legendaries could have "old man" and "old woman" motifs, according to leaks posted on social media from multiple sources. Though additional information about Pokemon Gen 10's box art legendaries remained elusive, the concept stemmed from a large leak concerning multiple Pokemon games.

On October 13, some details about Pokemon Gen 10 surfaced on social media as part of the "Teraleak 2" information dump. The leak claimed that Pokemon Gen 10 would be titled Pokemon Winds and Waves, and would be set in an archipelago region based on Indonesia and other Southeast Asian islands. Pokemon Winds and Waves is also said to feature procedurally generated islands based on a theme of "Infinity" that would allow players countless adventures. Pokemon's 10th generation is allegedly stated to launch in 2026 as a Switch 2 exclusive, and would be the highlight of the Pokemon franchise's 30th anniversary celebrations.

Pokemon Gen 10 Legendary Details Potentially Leaked

Some details about Pokemon Gen 10's potential starter were included in the new Teraleak, and additional information about what it could become shortly followed. Two known Pokemon leakers, Centro and Riddler Khu, stated in two separate Twitter posts that the box art Legendary mascots for Pokemon Winds and Waves would, respectively, have a "wind grandpa" and a "wave grandma" basis behind their designs. Centro stated via machine translation that each Legendary Pokemon would use its respective powers over the wind and the water to guide humans and Pokemon. Each Legendary Pokemon would also dwell on islands away from civilization. Both these box art Legendary Pokemon would have ties to a "Seed Pokemon" that trainers would obtain early on in the game. However, further details about Gen 10's box art Legendary Pokemon, such as their names and exact designs, remain unknown as of this writing.

Box art Legendary Pokemon have been a staple feature of Pokemon since the second generation, where Ho-Oh and Lugia served as the mascots of Pokemon Gold and Silver. Though both Ho-Oh and Lugia could be caught in each title set in the Johto region, later Pokemon games like Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire opted to make each box art Legendary Pokemon a version-exclusive monster for their respective game. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet continued this example, with Koraidon and Miraidon on the respective covers.

The leaks revealed so far also suggested that Pokemon's 10th generation could utilize weather-related moves as a core battle concept. However, until The Pokemon Company reveals official information, all leaks should be taken with a very fine grain of salt.
