Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be releasing on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 in a little over two months, but it will be the last stop before a long rest until Pokemon Gen 10 games come out, presumably in November of next year. Nothing is officially known about Pokemon Gen 10, to the point that it has yet to be announced, and its very existence is speculation. Obviously, Gen 10 games will indeed come out, but the various details are to be disclosed. Interestingly, there have been several alleged leaks about Gen 10 games over the past few months, and all of them point to a Greece-inspired setting with a special kind of Pokemon that would bring Pokemon Legends: Arceus full circle.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Pokemon Gen 10 leaks teased starters and more features allegedly coming with the game on 4chan recently, and these line up with what is known from the TeraLeak and other leakers from the community. If true, Gen 10 will take place in a new region inspired by Greece, possibly called Xenia, that is made of multiple smaller islands rather than one big landmass. Both the 4chan leaks and the original Gen 10 leaks include a mention of "divine Pokemon," and they could have a direct connection to PLA.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus' Volo Suddenly Has a Big Connection to Gen 10

Pokemon Legends: Arceus' story is all about the power of divine beings - the various godlike Pokemon from Gen 4, including Arceus itself, which is the actual in-game equivalent of a god. Players have to close the space-time rifts opening in the region, quell alpha Pokemon that have become infused with new powers, and do the same with some of the series' most powerful critters in the lore, like Dialga and Palkia. On top of that, Volo's character arc is all defined by the desire to do all it takes to get an audience with Arceus and subdue it to gain its divine powers.

Arceus is called "Alpha Pokemon," and is said to have created the universe the series takes place in, as well as the other godlike Pokemon.

PLA: Volo's Connection to Greek Mythology and Divine Powers Explained

In fact, Volo wants to subjugate Arceus in order to use its powers to destroy and recreate the world in a way that would be better than the one he currently lives in. Pokemon Legends: Arceus' Volo even goes on to say that he gave Giratina a chance to take the divine power of space and time from Dialga and Palkia and use it to lure Arceus out of hiding, further highlighting the theme of the game. And now, Gen 10 may introduce divine Pokemon that empower others to take on new forms or abilities, basically granting Volo's wish.

It's worth noting that Volo's clothing during the final confrontation in PLA resembles Greek clothing - specifically, his robe is similar to what Zeus typically wears in Greek mythology.

Volo's story may seem over at the end of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, but he states that he will one day conquer Arceus, no matter how many years, decades, or centuries it takes him, possibly admitting to being immortal or having some way to manipulate time. Either way, if Pokemon Gen 10 leaks on 4chan are true, they would essentially confirm the presence of divine Pokemon in the games, which would then beg the question of whether they are on par with Arceus in terms of godhood, or even whether their powers are natural or granted by yet another superior being.

Since a Greece-inspired region would surely have nods to Greek mythology, which is filled to the brim with gods and their volitions, a return of Volo himself wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities, and even if he doesn't return, Gen 10 would once again hinge on deities, divine powers, and what to do with them. The 4chan leak states that there will be 12 divine Pokemon that give other critters hyper abilities, like Raichu getting a new form that is Electric/Dark. This is very different from creating the world anew, like Volo wanted, but it would give the biggest insight into godhood in the series since Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and that may be a great thing.
