As their titles indicate, Hisuian Pokemon are Pokemon that were first spotted and registered in the Hisui region. While there are some never-before-seen species such as Overqwil and Sneasler, there are some returning Pokemon that have a regional form, such as Growlithe and Voltorb. Despite this, the way of obtaining the Hisuian Pokemon in Pokemon GO is different from the mainline games. Many evolved Hisuian Pokemon are raid-exclusive, so it's best to know which ones you can and can't catch in the wild.

Every Hisuian Pokemon in Pokemon GO (July 2025)
Hisuian Growlithe & Hisuian Arcanine
Hisuian Growlithe and Hisuian Arcanine are Fire/Rock-type Pokemon. They first appeared in Pokemon GO during the "Hisuian Discoveries" event on July 27, 2022. As of July 2025, you can find Hisuian Growlithe in the wild. The appearance rate of Hisuian Growlithe is influenced by any in-game events or the weather. If you want to evolve Hisuian Growlithe into Hisuian Arcanine, you'll need 50 Growlithe Candies.
Hisuian Voltorb & Hisuian Electrode
Both Hisuian Voltorb and Hisuian Electrode are Electric/Grass-type. Hisuian Voltorb was the first Hisuian Pokemon to appear in Pokemon GO by completing the "Voltorb from the Hisui Region?!" Special Research on January 30, 2022. However, it wouldn't be able to evolve until the following month (February 18, 2022), which marked the debut of Hisuian Electrode. You can find Hisuian Voltorb in the wild in Pokemon GO, but you can also hatch it from 7km Eggs.
Pokemon obtained via eggs will change over time. Meaning that although this method of getting Hisuian Voltorb exists now, it may not in the future.
Pokemon GO: Every Pokemon That Evolves with Special Buddy Tasks
Some Pokemon have special requirements in order to evolve in Pokemon GO.
Kleavor
Bug/Rock-type Kleavor is a new addition to the Scyther evolution line. Like Slowpoke and its evolutions, you have the option of evolving Scyther into two different Pokemon. As of Pokemon GO's Kleavor Raid Day (May 6, 2023), you can catch your own Kleavor from 3-star raids. If you're lucky, you could get a Shiny Kleavor!
Currently, you can't evolve Scyther into Kleavor in GO, and it's unknown whether this will change in the future.
Hisuian Typhlosion
Hisuian Typhlosion was met with mixed reactions from the fanbase when it was first revealed in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Despite this, the Fire/Ghost-type regional form grew popular over time thanks to its design and signature move.
Hisuian Typhlosion is the final evolved form of Cyndaquil, the Fire-type starter of the Johto region. However, you won't be able to evolve Cyndaquil/Quilava into Hisuian Typhlosion like you can in Legends: Arceus. Trying to do so will result in your Quilava evolving into the original/Johto Typhlosion. If you want Hisuian Typhlosion in Pokemon GO, you'll need to battle it in 3-star raids.
Hisuian Qwilfish & Overqwil
Hisuian Qwilfish and Overqwil are Dark/Poison-type Pokemon. Alongside Hisuian Growlithe and Hisuian Sneasel, Hisuian Qwilfish and Overqwil were made available during the "Hisuian Discoveries" event in GO. Both forms of Qwilfish exist in Pokemon GO, but only the Hisuian version can evolve into Overqwil.
Hisuian Qwilfish can be caught in the wild or hatched from 7km Eggs, like Hisuian Voltorb. If you want Overqwil, you'll need to evolve Hisuian Qwilfish and complete its Buddy Task. To do this, set Hisuian Qwilfish as your Buddy, then defeat 10 raids. You'll also need 50 Qwilfish Candy to trigger the evolution.
Wyrdeer
Normal/Psychic-type Wyrdeer is the long-awaited evolved form of Stantler, a Normal-type reindeer Pokemon from the Johto region. To evolve Stantler into Wyrdeer in the mainline games, you needed the help of its signature move: Psyshield Bash. In Pokemon GO, you can't evolve Stantler into Wyrdeer. The only way to get Wyrdeer is through 3-star raids. However, Wyrdeer's debut event, "Winter Wonderland," ended in December 2023. Thus, the only time it'll spawn at raids/gyms is during another Hisui-themed event.

Hisuian Sneasel & Sneasler
Hisuian Sneasel and Sneasler first appeared in "Hisuian Discoveries" event with Hisuian Growlithe, Hisuian Arcanine, Hisuian Qwilfish, and Overqwil. To contrast with its Johto version, Hisuian Sneasel is a Fighting/Poison-type, a typing combination that it shares with its evolution, Sneasler. Fighting/Poison-type gives Hisuian Sneasel type advantages and disadvantages that Dark/Ice-type Sneasel does not possess.
Originally, you could hatch Hisuian Sneasel from 7km Eggs in Pokemon GO, but it's since been removed from the egg pool. Fortunately, you can catch Hisuian Sneasel in the wild. If you want to get Sneasler, you'll need to evolve Hisuian Sneasel. To do so, you'll need to meet the following requirements:
- Set Hisuian Sneasel as your buddy.
- Walk 7km.
- Evolve it during the day.
- Give it 100 Sneasel Candies.
Sneasler is exclusive to Hisuian Sneasel. You can't get it by evolving the Sneasel from Johto. Likewise, you can't evolve a Hisuian Sneasel into Weavile.
Ursaluna
Ground/Normal-type Ursaluna is the third and final form of the Teddiursa line. It was made available in Pokemon GO during the Teddiursa Community Day on November 12, 2002. You won't be able to find Ursaluna in the wild, but you can get it by evolving Ursaring. You'll need 100 Teddiursa Candies, and it will need to be a full moon in real time. This means you can only evolve your Ursaring into Ursaluna once a month. Be sure you have enough Teddiursa Candy when the time comes, or you'll have to wait another month.
Pokemon Scarlet/Violet's expansion pass introduced a unique form of Ursaluna called Bloodmoon Ursaluna. This version of Ursaluna has yet to be seen in Pokemon GO. It's likely it will debut as a raid Pokemon since you can't evolve Ursaring into Bloodmoon Ursaluna.
Hisuian Samurott
Like Hisuian Typhlosion, Hisuian Samurott served as the final evolution of Oshawott, the Water-type starter of the Unova and Hisui region. In Legends: Arceus, any Dewott transferred to Hisui would evolve into Hisuian Samurott. If evolved elsewhere, it'd become the Unova/original Samurott. Hisuian Samurott's typing is Water/Dark, contrasting with the single Water-type of regular Samurott.
Currently, you can't evolve Dewott into Hisuian Samurott in Pokemon GO. The only way to get Hisuian Samurott is to battle one in 3-star raids. Due to its Water/Dark-typing, Hisuian Samurott is weak to Electric, Grass, Fighting, and Fairy-type moves. Keep this in mind when you go to battle it.
Hisuian Lilligant
Grass/Fighting-type Hisuian Lilligant sprung into Pokemon GO on July 12, 2025 as a 3-star Raid Pokemon from 2:00pm - 5:00pm local. If you were lucky, you may have caught her shiny form. You can't evolve Petilil into HIsuian Lilligant in Pokemon GO; you can only get it via raids. Evolving Petilil with 50 Petilil Candies and a Sun Stone will result in the original/Unova Lilligant. If you missed your chance to get Hisuian Lilligant this past Raid Day (July 12, 2025), you may have the opportunity to get one sometime later.
Due to her dual Grass/Fighting-type, Hisuian Lilligant is extremely weak to Flying-type moves. If you get the chance to battle her in the future, you'll want to bring your best Flying-type to the raid match.
Hisuian Braviary
Unlike regular Braviary, Hisuian Braviary is a dual Psychic/Flying-type. As you'd expect, Hisuian Braviary is the evolved form of a Rufflet that's reached level 54 in Hisui. Since levels don't exist in Pokemon GO, you only need 50 Rufflet Candies to evolve it into regular/Unova Braviary. However, the Hisuian Braviary can't evolve from Rufflet in Pokemon GO. If you want to catch a Hisuian Braviary, you should look for 3-star raids during Hisui in-game events. The Battle Cry Pokemon could be added to your storage as far back as July 31, 2022 during the Hisuian Discoveries Raid Day.
Hisuian Zorua & Hisuian Zoroark
From July 8, 2025 to July 13, 2025, Pokemon GO has its "Ultra Unlock: Hisui Celebration" event. This features the debut of Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark as well as the shiny forms of Hisuian Voltorb and Hisuian Qwilfish.
Hisuian Zorua's sad Pokedex entry quickly attracted attention from fans, making it quite popular on arrival. While Unova Zorua and Zoroark are Dark-types, Hisuian Zorua and Hisuian Zoroark are Normal-Ghost-types. Much like the regular Zorua, Hisuian Zorua will disguise itself as your Buddy Pokemon in the wild on your in-game map. To make it easier to spot, you should set a Shiny Pokemon or a Legendary/Mythical as a Buddy.
To get Hisuian Zoroark, evolve Hisuian Zorua with 50 Zorua Candies.

Hisuian Avalugg
Bergmite that evolve into the Hisui region become Hisuian Avalugg when they reach level 37. Getting Hisuian Avalugg in Pokemon GO is an entirely different process, and evolving Bergmite into its Hisuian evolution is currently not possible.
One way to catch a Hisuian Avalugg is to complete the "Hisui Celebration Collection Challenge: Space-Time Distortion" during the "Ultra Unlock: Hisui Celebration" event (ends July 13, 2025). The Ice/Rock-type served as an encounter reward for completing the Timed Research tasks.
If you didn't complete this task on time, then your next method of getting the Hisuian Avalugg is through 3-star raids, much like the other evolved Hisuian Pokemon (ex: Hisuian Samurott, Kleavor, Wyrdeer). You'll want to keep an eye out for in-game Hisui events for a potential Hisuian Avalugg raid.
Hisuian Decidueye
Like the other two Legends: Arceus starter Pokemon, you can get Grass/Fighting-type Hisuian Decidueye through 3-star raids. Hisuian Decidueye made its debut into Pokemon GO on February 11, 2024 during Hisuian Decidueye Raid Day. It shares its typing with Hisuian Lilligant, so if you're battling it, you should target it with Flying-type Pokemon. Finally, as you most likely guessed by now, you can't evolve Dartrix, the first of Rowlet's evolution line, into Hisuian Decidueye in Pokemon GO. Meaning you'll have to keep an eye out for 3-star raids during Hisuian-themed events if you want to add Hisuian Decidueye to your Pokedex.

Missing Hisuian Pokemon (July 2025)
