Pokemon GO has another event coming on Sunday, May 9th, 2021 known as Marill Limited Research. This event consists of timed research tasks only available from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM in players' local times on the event's date with plenty of special rewards up for grabs.
As the name implies, the focus of this Pokemon GO event is Marill, a dual Water and Fairy-type Pokemon. It is only weak to Poison, Electric, and Grass-type moves. Marill additionally resists damage from Bug, Fighting, Water, Ice, Dark, Fire, and Dragon-type moves. If players collect 25 Marill candies, they can evolve Marill into Azumarill.
There is a total of twenty different steps for this event, although steps eleven through twenty are just repeats of steps one through ten in both tasks and rewards. After step twenty is completed there are no more tasks for players to complete for the Marill Limited Research event.
Step One and Step Eleven
Transfer two Pokemon - Marill encounter

Completing these three tasks will reward players with ten Pokeballs, 500 Stardust, and 1,000 XP. It will also grant players access to the next step.
Step Two and Step Twelve

This step will reward players with fifteen Pinap Berries, 500 Stardust, and 1,000 XP upon completion. Like all other steps, it will additionally allow progress to the next.

Make two Nice Throws - Marill encounter
After finishing these tasks, players will get yet another Marill encounter, 500 Stardust, and 1,000 XP.

This step gives players another Marill encounter, 500 Stardust, and 1,000 XP after finishing all of its tasks.

Completing these tasks will give players the reward of fifteen Nanab Berries, 500 Stardust, and 1,000 XP.

Make two Curveball Throws in a row - Marill encounter
These tasks provide players with the rewards of another Marill encounter, 500 Stardust, and 1,000 XP.

This step has the reward of 10 Marill Candy, 500 Stardust, and 1,000 XP.

These tasks have the overall completion reward of 10 Marill Candy, 500 Stardust, and 1,000 XP.

The reward for reaching either the halfway point or end of these research tasks gives players fifteen Ultra Balls, 500 Stardust, and 1,000 XP.
