Cherubi Evolution and Forms Explained in Pokemon GO

Cherubi is a Grass-type Pokemon that was introduced back in Gen 4/Diamond & Pearl. While it's been in Pokemon GO for a while now, it makes a return for the Spring into Spring Event (2025). The Spring into Spring Event (2025) was to introduce Gossifleur and Eldegoss to the Pokemon GO world, but from April 13-14, 2025, you'll have a higher chance of Cherubi spawns. If you're really lucky, Cherubi may be shiny. Regardless, you should try and evolve your Cherubi into Cherrim while the event is live.

How to Farm Cherubi Candy

Cherubi appears during sunny weather, especially in the spring. During the Timed Research, Spring Collection Challenge: Sprouting Days, you'll see more Cherubi as well as Roselia, Oddish, and Hoppip. You can increase the chances of Cherubi appearing by placing Lures on PokeStops, or using Incense.

When catching Cherubi, feed it a Pinap Berry or a Silver Pinap Berry. This will double the candy earned upon a successful catch. Silver Pinap Berries have the effect of a Razz Berry and Pinap Berry. Not only will you get more candy, t he wild Pokemon should be easier to catch.

How to Evolve Cherubi into Cherrim

Overcast vs. Sunny Form

To evolve Cherubi into Cherrim, you need to give it 50 Cherubi Candy. As mentioned earlier, the best way to farm Cherubi Candy is to feed wild Cherubi (or Cherrim) a Pinap/Silver Pinap Berry before catching it. You should also be catching every Cherubi that appears on your screen. Even if you don't use Pinap Berries, you'll get x3 Candy for each Cherubi you manage to catch.

Those familiar with Pokemon know that Cherrim has two forms:

Overcast
Sunny

Contrary to belief, Cherrim's form is not determined by the in-game weather in Pokemon GO. Like Wurmple, you have a 50% chance of getting one form or another. If you want both Cherrims, you should keep catching Cherubi until you have well over 100 Cherubi Candy.

Unlike the console games, Cherrim's form won't change in battle depending on the weather. Whichever form your Cherubi evolves into, it will be permanent.
