Niantic has shared the dates of the next handful of Pokemon GO Community Days scheduled to take place over the following three months. The studio's announcement arrives mere days after the conclusion of Pokemon GO's highly anticipated Noibat Community Day.

Community Days are limited-time Pokemon GO events that allow players to catch an abundance of a particular pocket monster species. Not only do these event creatures typically feature exclusive moves that tend to be more viable in competitive play than those found in the wild, but most CD Pokemon also have a fair chance of being shiny. Niantic has regularly used Community Days as a way to maintain massive Pokemon GO engagement rates since early 2018.

Following the conclusion of the Pokemon GO Season of Mythical Wishes, Niantic has now shared the dates of the next four Community Days, as well as five other in-game events scheduled to take place from March through late May. Players who missed out on some of the previous limited-time Pokemon will want to mark April 29 on their calendars, as that's the date of the next Community Day Classic, a special event that will usher in a return of one previously debuted CD species. For example, the January 21 Community Day Classic featured Larvitar, which was last available in Pokemon GO in mid-2018.

Niantic hasn't shared any other details about its upcoming events, which is consistent with the company's approach to communicating new changes and additions to the game. Based on its track record of Pokemon GO Community Day announcements, it's likely that the March 18 Community Day will be officially unveiled in late February, as the studio typically gives its players some three weeks' worth of heads-up when it comes to these limited-time opportunities for catching extra rare pocket monsters.

Looking at the bigger picture, some fans still won't be happy about the fact that the developer appears to be sticking to its traditional CD format for the time being. Namely, a vocal portion of the Pokemon GO player base has recently started calling for longer Community Days, positing that an event running for only three hours over the weekend simply isn't accessible enough for people with any sort of obligations.

Some fans even went as far as to argue that three-hour Community Days are primarily designed around the so-called "FOMO"—fear of missing out—instead of fun gameplay mechanics. That notwithstanding, Niantic has yet to give any indication that it intends to shake up this format in the foreseeable future.

Pokemon GO is available now on Android and iOS.
