The Max Monday featuring Darumaka kicks off on July 21, 2025, and will run between 6 PM and 7 PM local time. During this time, players will find that all Power Spots across their map become occupied with Max Battles featuring Darumaka. Players can use this to their advantage to farm multiple copies of Darumaka, accumulate Darumaka Candy, hunt for one with competitive potential, and claim as many rewards as possible. To ensure this goes as smoothly as possible, players will want to consider the weaknesses and resistances of the boss, as well as the best potential monsters to bring into battle.

Darumaka Weaknesses & Resistances

In Pokemon GO, Darumaka is a pure Fire-type monster, resulting in rather straightforward weaknesses and resistances. Darumaka is resistant to Fairy, Bug, Fire, Steel, Ice, and Grass-type Pokemon and moves, so these are best left avoided. On the other hand, Darumaka is weak to Water, Rock, and Ground-type monsters and moves, so players should look to build around these attributes.

Dynamax Darumaka Counters

To best counter Dynamax Darumaka, players will need to build a team from Pokemon who carry strong stat spreads, Type advantages, and powerful moves that target Darumaka's weaknesses. However, they will be restricted to a smaller pool of candidates, as Max Battles are restricted to only Dynamax Pokemon. Regardless of a smaller amount of Dynamax Pokemon being available in-game, there are still some solid options that stand out among others as the best choices for Trainers to bring into battle.

Can Dynamax Darumaka Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

Luckily for Trainers wondering about the possibility of encountering a shiny Dynamax Darumaka, shinies for both the regular and Dynamax versions of this Pokemon are available in-game. However, there is no guarantee of encountering one after one, or even multiple fights, as players will need to be lucky enough to meet the shiny odds.

However, if they do not feel like persisting and trying out their luck in their own shiny Darumaka hunt, it is also possible to obtain a shiny Darumaka from trades. The only requirements for this are that you will need to find a trading partner whom you trust, who not only has a shiny Dynamax Darumaka they are willing to let go of, but also is within your local area, as Global Trades do not exist. If players obtain a shiny Dynamax Darukama through trading or Max Battles, they can also opt to further evolve it into a shiny Dynamax Darmanitan at the cost of 50 Candy.
