Summary
- Fans eagerly await Gigantamax in Pokemon GO and may have found a hint from the professor.
- Data miners found new G-Max moves hinting at a potential Gigantamax feature.
- Speculation rises over a spooky Pokemon GO event for Max Out season with a possible Gigantamax Gengar.
Pokemon GO fans have spotted a subtle hint about the Gigantamax feature, something that the community has been eagerly awaiting. Dynamax and Gigantamax have been a subject of rumors for several months now, and while many were expecting both of them would be released in Pokemon GO together, only Dynamax made its debut during the Max Out season.
Despite the hype around the release of the Dynamax feature, fans weren't quite happy with the mechanic. Many players noted that it felt like a gimmick, and the issues surrounding Max Raids in Pokemon GO made things even worse. That being said, as more Pokemon get their Dynamax variants added to the game, the mechanic is slowly finding its place as a core part of Pokemon GO. However, it seems like Niantic has some more exciting plans for the community, as players might soon be able to Gigantamax their Pokemon.
In a new post on the Pokemon GO subreddit, user Badandaverage spotted an easy-to-miss detail in the game. In the latest part of the Galar Calling Special Research in Pokemon GO, the professor hints that a "gigantic" discovery is around the corner. Considering that the initial parts of the Special Research were focused on the Dynamax feature, fans believe that the remainder of the quest might center on Gigantamax instead. Additionally, another dialogue suggests that Team GO Rocket might get some Dynamax Pokemon in the future.
G-Max Moves Were Recently Datamined in Pokemon GO
Niantic had previously denied any claims of Gigantamax being added to Pokemon GO, so this speculation would seem farfetched at first. However, the content found by data miners contradicts Niantic's comments. Recently, dataminers discovered that four new moves were added to the game: G-Max Cannonade for Blastoise, G-Max Terror for Gengar, G-Max Vinelash for Venusaur, and Rage Fist. Of these, Rage Fist's addition was eventually confirmed as part of Pokemon GO's November Community Day, so there is a good chance that the rest get introduced to the game as well.
Over on Reddit, fans are more excited about the release of Gigantamax than Dynamax, mainly due to the addition of the special G-Max moves. Some are already speculating which Pokemon will get the Gigantamax form first, and fans seem to be in favor of Gengar. This is because Halloween is right around the corner, and many believe that Niantic will announce a spooky Pokemon GO event for the Max Out season. Gigantamax Gengar would be a perfect fit for the event, considering it is one of the most popular Ghost-type Pokemon.
