Pokemon GO players are reporting multiple unusual sightings of the Grass-type Skiddo and its evolution Gogoat in the wild. The Gen 6 Pokemon were added to the augmented reality mobile game during the Pokemon GO City Safari Seoul event in October 2023. Encounters with the Pokemon are typically restricted to special events, which makes Skiddo and Gogoat's recent appearance highly unusual.
As of July 15, Pokemon GO is celebrating the Water Festival, making Water-type Pokemon appear more frequently until the end of the event on July 20. The Water Festival also saw the arrival of the Gen 9 sushi Pokemon Tatsugiri, with each of its three forms only appearing in certain regions of the world. With Skiddo and Gogoat being Grass-type Pokemon, their spawns should technically be even less likely as long as the event boosts the possibility of Water-type encounters.

While Skiddo and Gogoat encounters in the wild could point to adjustments being made to the pool of Pokemon that can spawn at any given time, their appearances during the Water Festival are more likely due to a glitch or developer error.
Skiddo And Gogoat Are Spawning in Pokemon GO
Players who are lucky enough to encounter Skiddo or Gogoat in the wild should approach the Pokemon prepared to use more valuable resources, considering their low catch rates and the rare chance that either will appear again. Grinding away at the GO Pass for Pokemon GO in July is a good way for trainers to stock up on free rewards such as Ultra Balls and Golden Razz Berries, both of which will make catching the elusive Grass-types much more likely.
Pokemon GO fans have a lot to look forward to in the second half of July. In addition to the Water Festival, the new Pokemon GO Summer Concert event will celebrate the game's music, composed by Junichi Masuda, from July 19 to July 22. Along with new background music from Masuda, trainers will be able to enjoy a number of special bonuses, including an extension to the duration of Lure Modules. Chances of encountering certain Shiny Pokemon will also be increased, incentivizing players to make use of any Lures they've been holding onto.
