Pokemon GO has announced a new event that will add shiny Petilil to the game. Pokemon GO is currently in Season 11, and the season titled Hidden Gems has already brought new Pokemon and a slew of events for players.
This year Pokemon GO celebrated its seventh anniversary with Niantic holding a big celebration for Pokemon GO players. With the end of the seventh-anniversary celebration, Pokemon GO is gearing up for the most anticipated event of the year: the Pokemon GO Fest. This year's Pokemon GO Fest will take place in the US, UK, and Japan, with a global part uniting players from all over the world. But while Pokemon GO Fest 2023 doesn't kick off until August, Niantic has more news for Pokemon GO players.
Pokemon GO has announced the new Glittering Garden event that begins on August 5 at 10 AM and ends on August 8 at 8 PM local time. The event will see the appearance of some Grass and Fairy-type Pokemon featured at Pokemon GO Fest 2023, with shiny Petilil available for the first time. Bulbasaur, Jigglypuff, Oddish, Hoppip, Seedot, Cacnea, Ferroseed, Spritzee, Swirlix, and Dedenne will appear in the wild more often, with all Pokemon having a shiny chance. Players who hatch 2km eggs during the event can get Budew, Cherubi, Sewaddle, Petilil, Bounsweet, and Larvesta, one of the hardest critters to get in Pokemon GO. On each day of the event, a Pokemon will appear more often in parks, these being Petilil (August 5), Cacnea (August 6), Oddish (August 7), and Seedot (August 8).
As usual with Pokemon GO events, during the Glittering Garden event, players can enjoy some bonuses. Less distance will be required to earn hearts with Buddy Pokemon, while catches during the event will offer more Stardust and Candy. Players will also have a higher chance of getting Candy XL when walking with their Buddy Pokemon. Completing certain Field Research tasks will reward encounters with Tangela, Roselia, Petilil, and Foongus. A free Pokemon GO Limited Research will be available during the event, focusing on exploration and hatching eggs.
Pokemon GO has had its share of problems during its seven years, but the game still has a very active community. To engage players even more, Niantic keeps adding new features like Routes and adding new monsters to Pokemon GO. The Glittering Garden event is specifically interesting, as it will take place during Pokemon GO Fest 2023, which may give an extra reason for gamers to play the game in August.
Pokemon GO is available for Android and iOS.
