The Electric/Dark-type Pokemon from Gen 8, Morpeko, made its way into Pokemon GO back in 2024 with the annual Halloween event. And now, with the start of the High Voltage event, players will finally be able to find this Two-Sided Pokemon's shiny variant (for its Full Body and Hangry forms).
With this guide, you can learn everything you need to know about this event, like its end time, all Research Tasks and rewards, as well as how to complete the Charged Cuties Collection Challenge. Let's get into it!
New Pokemon Variants Look A Lot Like Pals
Pokemon variants introduced in upcoming life sim Pokemon Pokopia bear a surprising resemblance to Palworld's Pals.

If you're a shiny hunter in Pokemon GO, then you will be excited to hear that not only does Morpeko get its shiny form in the mobile game, but its Hangry form gets one as well. For the Full Belly Form, Morpeko typically has yellow coloring on its midsection, but the shiny version is white instead. The other form, which is usually purple and black, has a lighter shade in its mid-section, making it closer to blue. You can see images of the shiny (and non-shiny) version of both Morpeko forms above.

How to Complete the Charged Cuties Collection Challenge in Pokemon GO
Catch Some Electric Critters

Emolga |
Dedenne |
Pawmi |
Togedemaru |
|---|
To complete the collection challenge during the High Voltage event, you just need to catch an Emolga, Dedenne, Pawmi, and Togedemaru. Luckily, all four of these Pokemon will have increased spawns until Saturday (and some are even rewards for the tasks).
As a reward for finding them all, you'll get 2500 XP, 2500 Stardust, and another encounter with Morpeko.
How to Change Morpeko's Form in Pokemon GO
Only in Battle
Once you have your hands on a Morpeko, you can change its form by using its Charged Aura Wheel attack in battle. At the start of a battle, Aura Wheel is an Electric-type move, but if you use it while Morpeko is in Fully Belly mode, it's a Dark-type.
It's worth noting that when Morpeko initially came to Pokemon GO, it could only change its form during a battle with Team GO Rocket or in a GO Battle League match. We're not sure if you can change its form during other fights just yet.
