Pokemon GO has revealed a new Munchlax Hatch Day for August 2025 with limited bonuses, including reduced hatch distance requirements. Pokemon GO is set to launch multiple exciting events in the coming weeks as its Delightful Days season approaches its big finale.
Since the release of Toxel in 2024, all Baby Pokemon have become available in Pokemon GO. The list of these adorable creatures isn't long, but some Baby Pokemon are harder to catch than others. For this reason, Pokemon GO occasionally launches Hatch Day events that can help players register these monsters in their Pokedex. The last Hatch Day was held in April and featured Tyrogue. Now, the mobile game has announced a new edition for August starring a Gen 4 critter.
Pokemon GO Announces New Research Day for August 2025
Niantic confirms that a brand-new Pokemon GO Research Day event will be held in August 2025, giving players more Shiny hunting opportunities.
Pokemon GO has announced a Munchlax Hatch Day for Saturday, August 9, 2025. The event will run from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time. During this period, Munchlax will hatch more frequently from 2 km Eggs, and players will have an increased chance of hatching its shiny version. Additionally, hatching Pokemon will reward double the amount of Candy, and there will be an increased chance of receiving 2 km Eggs from spinning PokeStops. Finally, from August 7 at 10:00 AM to the end of the event, hatch distance will be reduced by half. It is worth noting that Munchlax's Hatch Day will last for six hours, which is double the length of previous editions. In the past, fans have complained that Pokemon GO Hatch Days were too short to make the most out of the bonuses. It seems that the developers have considered this feedback and adjusted the schedule for the next event.

Munchlax's Hatch Day overlaps with Snom's debut in Pokemon GO, and since the Ice-type Pokemon will hatch from 7 km eggs exclusively, the reduced hatch distance bonus could come in handy for players. Moreover, during Hatch Day, special Timed Research will be available with a free Incubator and 5,000 XP as rewards. Players can also purchase a $2 ticket for additional Timed Research tasks that grant double the Stardust, two Supe Incubators, and one Star Piece.
Some major events are coming to Pokemon GO, including the long-awaited debut of Eternatus on August 23 and 24 during GO Fest: Max Finale. The game will also launch Rookidee's Community Day on August 30, after the critter was voted first place in an official fan poll.
