How to Get Morpeko in Pokemon GO
There are multiple ways to get Morpeko in Pokemon GO, depending on whether players have taken part in the Pokemon GO Halloween 2024 Part 1 premium research or not. Here are the various ways players can get Morpeko in Pokemon GO.
GO Battle League Encounter
Niantic has updated the GO Battle League encounters as part of the Pokemon GO Halloween 2024 Part 1 event. Players will be able to encounter Morpeko in GO Battle League encounters throughout the season, however, there is a catch. During the event, Morpeko will only spawn in the premium track of GO Battle League. However, once the event is over, players will be able to get the Pokemon in both the regular and premium tracks, although the odds of encountering it in the premium track will remain much higher.
Halloween 2024: Field Research
This is probably the easiest way to get Morpeko, as the Halloween event Field Research gives players a Morpeko encounter after they win two raids in Pokemon GO. The Field Research is available for free.
Halloween 2024: Spiritomb Challenge Timed Research
Another way to encounter Morpeko for free is the Spiritomb Challenge Timed Research. The first step requires players to catch 108 Ghost- or Dark-type Pokemon, and rewards players with a Morpeko encounter. That being said, players are much better off using the Field Research to get the Pokemon considering how tedious it can be to catch 108 Ghost or Dark-type Pokemon.
Halloween 2024: Morpeko Onesie Premium Timed Research
If players buy the Morpeko Onesie Premium Timed Research for $5, they will be able to get a Morpeko encounter along with a Morpeko onesie. The rewards don't unlock until step 2 of the research, where players will get an option to either choose the Full Belly Mode Path or the Hangry Mode Path. If they choose the former, they will get a Morpeko encounter after they use 10 Berries to catch Pokemon, otherwise, they will have to feed their Buddy Pokemon 10 times in Pokemon GO. Additionally, both paths also award a Morpeko encounter as a step reward.
How to Change Morpeko's Forms
Morpeko's unique forms are making their way to Pokemon GO as well. However, there is a catch. Players will only be able to change Morpeko's forms while battling Team GO Rocket or in the GO Battle League. That being said, this might change in the feature as the developers have noted that this is for the initial phase of the launch. To change its form, all players need to do is use a Charged Attack in Pokemon GO with Morpeko. Morpeko's type will switch between Electric and Dark depending on its form.
