Pokemon GO: How to Beat Arlo (December 2021)

Like usual in Pokemon GO, Team GO Rocket is still causing trouble from occupied PokeStops and hot air balloons. If players want to though, they can be challenged in order to free up the PokeStops and rescue their captured Shadow Pokemon. Players that continue down this pursuit will eventually encounter one of the leaders of Team GO Rocket.

There are three different Team GO Rocket leaders that players can usually encounter in Pokemon GO. They can be encounter after assembling a Rocket Radar via the parts earned from defeating normal grunts. Arlo is one of these leaders and he is no pushover.

Like the other Team GO Rocket leaders, Arlo has gone through a recent team change. While his Pokemon are all documented, only his first Pokemon is actually set in stone when players battle him. Arlo's second and third Pokemon each have their own pool of three different Pokemon that Arlo can choose from to send out in battle. Which one he chooses is random, but if players lose to Arlo in the encounter and rematch him within the same encounter, his party will remain the same.

Arlo's First Pokemon - Gligar

The first Pokemon Arlo will always set out is Gligar. It is a dual Ground and Flying-type, making it only weak to Ice and Water-type moves. Gligar also resists damage from Electric, Fighting, Poison, Bug, and Ground-type moves.

For Arlo's second Pokemon, he has options between Mawile, Lapras, and Cradily. Each of these Pokemon can present their own challenge for unprepared players.

Mawile is a dual Steel and Fairy-type Pokemon, making it only weak to Ground and Fire-type moves. It holds a massive amount of resistances with it resisting Poison, Normal, Flying, Rock, Grass, Psychic, Ice, Dark, Fairy, Bug, and Dragon-type moves. Arlo has three more choices when it comes to his last Pokemon. All of them can quickly take down players' Pokemon and robbing them of a possible victory. These Pokemon are Scizor, Snorlax, and Gardevoir.

Scizor is one of Arlo's most dangerous Pokemon due to it only having a weakness to Fire-type moves. It is a dual Bug and Steel-type Pokemon that also resists damage from Normal, Bug, Steel, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, Fairy, Poison, and Grass-type moves.
