Pokemon GO's Community Day events are the perfect time for collectors to catch Shiny Pokemon - typically, the Shiny rate of the featured Pokemon is increased alongside its standard appearance rate. Other events, such as those celebrating specific holidays or Pokemon regions, may feature multiple Shiny Pokemon with their rates increased at once. The upcoming January Community Day Classic, which will occur on January 25, is a two-for-one for Pokemon GO players, as the featured Pokemon has two potential evolutions, meaning players can add two new Shinies to their collection.

Ralts Returns In January 2025 Community Day Classic

Ralts, a Psychic/Fairy-type Pokemon from Generation 3, will be the featured Pokemon during January 2025's Community Day Classic event. Community Day Classic, which was introduced in 2022, allows Pokemon from previous Community Days to appear again, giving new players a chance to catch them. There are typically three to five Community Day Classic events per year, and 2025 seems poised to continue this trend beginning with the January event. It will be the second Community Day event in January 2025, following a Sprigatito-focused day earlier in the month.

Ralts has been a popular choice for Community Day Classic since the event's inception. Its previous Community Day was in 2019, five years ago, and it is still considered to be a high tier wielder of Psychic-type attacks in Pokemon GO. With the introduction of new content such as Dynamax and Gigantamax Raids, strong Pokemon like Ralts' evolutions Gardevoir and Gallade are more valuable than ever before. The Ralts line also consistently ranks as fairly popular with Pokemon fans, something that only increased when Iron Valiant - which features visual elements of both Gardevoir and Gallade - debuted as one of the strongest Paradox Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Ralts Community Day Classic Is The Perfect Time To Snag Two Shiny Pokemon

Ralts is one of many Pokemon with a split evolution line. All Ralts evolve into Kirlia, but male Kirlia can potentially become Gallade, a Psychic/Fighting-type, if exposed to a Dawn Stone. Female Kirlia - and males evolved without a stone - become Gardevoir instead. Because evolution stones are handled differently in Pokemon GO, a male Kirlia can instead evolve into Gallade when fed 100 Ralts Candies and given a Sinnoh Stone. Sinnoh Stones are earned by completing Field Research tasks or battling other Pokemon GO players. Kirlia fed 100 candies, but not given a Sinnoh Stone, will evolve into Gardevoir.

Players can take advantage of Ralts' dual final evolutions to gain both a Shiny Gallade and a Shiny Gardevoir during the Community Day Classic event. They can do this by ensuring that at least one Shiny Ralts caught during the event is male. Ralts is believed to have a roughly 50-50 male to female ratio in Pokemon GO, meaning that it should not be too difficult to find at least one male Ralts during the event. While male Ralts can also eventually evolve into Gardevoir, players should prioritize making male Shinies into Gallade while saving Gardevoir for the females.

However, the two-for-one nature of the Community Day Classic event, while good for Shiny Pokemon, could cause players to struggle in other areas. Players who want both a Gardevoir and a Gallade with the special move Synchronoise will have to fully evolve both during the course of the event. They can accomplish this by using Pinap Berries and Silver Pinap Berries to increase the amount of Candy earned when catching the many Ralts found in the wild during the event. Particularly lucky and assiduous Trainers may even be able to fully evolve both a Shiny Gallade and a Shiny Gardevoir possessing the event-exclusive move.
