With the year coming to a close, Pokemon GO has now revealed the first Mega Raid Day of 2025, and it's bringing Mega Gallade to the game. Pokemon GO players will want to set aside some time to ensure they can make the most of this upcoming Raid Day.
Pokemon GO introduced Mega Evolutions back in 2020, putting a twist on the temporary evolution compared to the base games. While most players are focusing on Pokemon GO's Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon, given their recent addition, there are still some existing Mega Evolutions left to be added to the title prior to the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, which will introduce brand new Mega Evolutions to the series.
Pokemon GO Announces New Hatch Day Event for December 2024
Developer Niantic announces Pokemon GO's new Hatch Day event for December 2024, adding to the recently revealed New Year's event.
Pokemon GO players should set some time aside for January 11 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Local time to participate in Mega Gallade Raid Day. Mega Gallade will have an increased chance of appearing in raids during this three hour window, and players will have a chance of encountering a Shiny variant of it. As is often the case, players will have an opportunity to get more Raid Passes than usual, with up to 5 additional Raid Passes from Pokemon Gyms and the Remote Raid limit increased to 20 from January 10 at 4:00 p.m. PST to January 11 at 7:00 p.m. PST. This limit can be increased even further for players who purchase the Raid's Event Ticket.

Pokemon GO Mega Gallade Raid Day Event Ticket Details
Players will be able to purchase a $5 USD Event Ticket that will be in effect from January 11 at 2:00 p.m. To 10:00 p.m. Local time. The event ticket allows users to acquire an additional eight Raid Passes from Pokemon Gyms, for a maximum daily total of 15. Additionally, the ticket grants increased odds of getting Rare Candy XL, 50% more XP, and 2x Stardust in Raid Battles. The ticket will be available for purchase until January 11 at 5:00 p.m. Local player time.
Lastly, another Ultra Ticket Box will be available for $4.99 USD, which includes an Event Ticket and a bonus Premium Battle Pass. This will be available exclusively through the Pokemon GO Web Store.
Pokemon GO is currently celebrating the holiday season, with the festivities expected to continue through the start of the coming year with a New Year's 2025 Event. In addition, Fidough will be making its Pokemon GO debut at the start of the year, and Sprigatito has been announced as the year's first Community Day Pokemon. Between these additions and Mega Gallade Raid Day, there's plenty to check out and enjoy in Pokemon GO through January 2025.
