As part of the new Precious Paths season in Pokemon GO, players can head to the in-game shop to purchase the Masterwork Research: A Precious Catch ticket, which costs $7.99 but will eventually reward players with a coveted Master Ball.

The Master Ball in Pokemon lore can capture any monster without fail, so having one is like the ultimate Pokemon trainer's dream.

Unfortunately, we don't have every step of the Masterwork research available yet. The first step will be available at the launch of the new season, and more steps will become available as the season progresses and eventually ends on March 3, 2026.

We'll be sure to keep this Pokemon GO guide updated as more steps and rewards come in. However, we expect the Master Ball to be the last reward for the research, so keep that in mind.

Is the Masterwork Research Ticket Worth It?

Master Ball research doesn't come around that often in Pokemon GO, so if you want one, paying the $8 might not be that bad of an offer. As far as the other rewards go, just from seeing the first step giving players Lechonk, it doesn't seem to be worth much if you don't care about the Master Ball.
