Pokemon GO recently teased that Pawmi will likely be featured during May’s Community Day. Pokemon GO players will have increased chances of capturing Pawmi during a few hours of a single day in May, including shiny versions, so fans should be prepared to make the most of the opportunity.
The Pokemon GO Community Day is a traditional monthly event which always features a different monster. In April, the Pokemon GO Community Day featured Vanillite. The event took place on April 27, and gamers had more chances to encounter the Ice-type Gen 5 critter in the wilds during a small three-hour window. However, reactions on social media were mixed, as Vanillite is far from a beloved Pokemon due to its somewhat uninspired design.

This guide details how to get Cresselia and Shiny Cresselia in Pokemon GO by selecting the best counters under its type-weaknesses.
Now, Pokemon GO has teased the next Community Day with a short video, which only shows the orange ears of a creature hidden in the grass. Most fans have already identified the creature as Pawmi, an Electric-type monster introduced in Gen 9. While the event has not been officially announced yet, it was already revealed that the Pokemon GO Community Day will happen on May 11, which will be followed by a Community Day Classic on May 24. Pawmi was originally added to Pokemon GO back in 2023, at the start of the Ultra Unlock: Paldea event. Fortunately for fans, Pawmi is a fairly popular critter, and this could be an exciting opportunity to catch a shiny version of it.

The Community Day will not be the only interesting Pokemon GO event happening next month, though. Last week, it was revealed that Pokemon GO would see the debut of Dynamax Suicune during the Max Battle Weekend, which will run from May 10 to 11. During the event, gamers will also have increased chances to capture a Shiny Suicune, which is good news for fans of the legendary Pokemon originally introduced in Gen 2. Apart from the new creature, the event will have several bonuses available for players, such as increasing their Max Particle collection limit, and making Power Spots refresh more frequently.
So far, 2025 has been a year of big changes for Pokemon GO. Perhaps the most surprising was Scopely's purchase of Pokemon GO along with Niantic's other games for $3.5 billion back in March. During the acquisition, Scopely stated that Pokemon GO would not be negatively impacted by the change, with future patches and support still set to continue.
