Pokemon GO is getting ready to release Mega Audino in early April through a special Raid Day event. The new addition to Pokemon GO is set to arrive on April 5, so players who want to add one to their Pokemon boxes will want to be prepared.
One of the more popular Pokemon to come out of the massive batch of Gen 5 monsters, Audino was originally introduced as a pure Normal-type Pokemon before having the secondary Fairy-typing added when it is in its Mega Evolved form. Mega Evolution wasn't introduced to the series until Gen 6 with the release of Pokemon X and Y, and while this Pokemon didn't make the cut for that game, Mega Audino was added to Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire in 2014, making it the first and only Pokemon introduced in Gen 5 to receive the honor of a Mega Evolution.

Following up on Pokemon GO's Mega Absol Raid Day, which is set to take place on March 23, the special event for Mega Audino will happen for just three hours, from 2 p.m. To 5 p.m. Local time on April 5. This special event marks the first time that players will get the opportunity to catch Mega Audino via a Pokemon GO raid, and unlike with some other recent releases, players will have a chance of finding a shiny version. Additionally, Audino will be able to learn the charged attack Moonblast, which will begin during the event and will continue in the game afterward as an ongoing feature.

Since the Mega Evolution adds a secondary Fairy typing to Audino, players won't be able to get super-effective hits on it when using Fighting-type moves, the way they could against a normal Audino. Those wanting to make their battles with Mega Audino easier should prepare to unleash their best Poison and Steel-type Pokemon in Pokemon GO. Additionally, players can pick up an Event Ticket for $5 USD (or equivalent currency), which grants a lot of bonuses, including additional Raid Passes when spinning Gym Photo discs, a better chance of getting Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles, and double XP and Stardust from Raid Battles.
Along with the first chance to get Mega Audino, the event will also include a special Pokemon GO Timed Research opportunity. There's no word yet on what the requirements for completing the Timed Research will be, but completing it will grant players some nice rewards. Already announced is a Timed Research Reward of 10,000 Stardust plus additional Stardust for completing Raid Battles, and the announcement page indicates that there will be more rewards that haven't been revealed yet.
