When taking on Mega Venusaur, you'll need to ensure you bring the right Pokemon to your team. To get some Super Effective hits on Mega Venusaur, here are all of its weaknesses:

  • Psychic
  • Fire
  • Flying
  • Ice

Any Pokemon you have current access to that falls under these types will be beneficial against the boss. However, you'll want to make sure you avoid any Pokemon under these types, as Mega Venusaur is Super Effective against them:

  • Fairy
  • Water
  • Ground
  • Rock
  • Grass

Mega Venusaur will use a mixture of Grass and Poison attacks, with a majority of its fast and charged moves being Grass. Overall, you'll want to completely avoid bringing along any of these five types to the battle, because they will be knocked out in just a few hits. Stick to Psychic, Fire, Flying, and Ice to get a strong advantage in the battle.

How to Get Shiny Venusaur in Pokemon GO

Image of Shiny Venusaur in the foreground from Pokemon GO

There is the option of having an encounter with Shiny Venusaur, but this is relatively uncommon and difficult to find. To increase your chances of encountering a Shiny Venusaur, you'll want to make sure to take on as many Mega Venusaur Raid Battles as possible. This will increase your Shiny odds.

You can also stay near to the Raid location where you fought Mega Venusaur, and there is a small chance the Pokemon might appear to you. Remember that Shinies appear at random, so it isn't guaranteed that you'll run into one. As long as you keep battling the boss, you'll get a higher chance of encountering its Shiny form.
