When it comes to Pokemon GO dataminers, few are as consistent and reliable as Chrales, and his latest datamining effort has revealed that four new Gen 4 sprites have been added to the popular mobile game. While they're not live and available to catch in the wild yet, it seems like Pokemon GO players will soon have the opportunity to add Bonsly, Croagunk, Tangrowth, and Yanmega to their collection.
While it has yet to be confirmed, it's a distinct possibility that Bonsly, the baby form of Sudowoodo, will be exclusive to eggs. In the main series Pokemon games, Bonsly has to know the move Mimic before it can evolve into Sudowoodo, but it's unlikely that a similar restriction will be imposed on it in Pokemon GO.
Meanwhile, Tangrowth and Yanmega are the Gen 4 evolved forms of Tangela and Yanma respectively, and players will likely need a Sinnoh Stone to add them to their lineup. As is the case with other Gen 4 evolutions, players will probably need to amass 100 candy for each Pokemon before they can evolve them as well.
And finally, Croagunk may actually appear out in the wild with other Pokemon, but that also has yet to be confirmed. Since Pokemon GO will eventually add every single Pokemon to the game, the addition of Croagunk and the other three Pokemon that have been leaked is just a matter of "when," but even so, fans will want to wait for Niantic to reveal more information before they get too excited.
In the meantime, Chrales also found shiny variants for each of these new Gen 4 Pokemon in the files of the latest Pokemon GO update. Sometimes it takes quite awhile for shiny variants to be added to the game, so this could be an indication that the shiny forms of Bonsly, Croagunk, Tangrowth, and Yanmega will be added on the same day as their regular forms.
As for when these Pokemon will come to Pokemon GO, that's up for debate. We know that a winter event with Delibird is scheduled to begin this month, so perhaps they will make their debut in a matter of weeks.
Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
