But there is one extremely challenging milestone for Pokemon GO players, and that is getting to level 50.
The journey for Pokemon GO players to get from level 40 to 50 is very challenging because level-up requirements increase exponentially. To level up to level 41, for example, Pokemon GO players need to do things such as have a Legendary Pokemon and power it up 20 times, earn 6 million XP, and catch 200 Pokemon in a single day. The difficulty is bigger to make level 50 a reality, with Pokemon GO players needing 999 Excellent Throws, 30 million XP, and other things. But one Pokemon GO trainer was undeterred and showed that not only is it possible to achieve this feat, but in an incredibly short period.

Reddit user matthewormatt has reached level 50 in Pokemon GO in less than nine months. The screenshot they shared shows the status of their account, which was created on August 2, 2023. With more than 72,000 Pokemon caught and over 13,000 PokeStops visited, the player explains that they began by playing for a few hours every day. As they became more familiar with the various Pokemon GO events, they began to focus on events with double XP as a reward.
Level 50 is the Pokemon GO "Endgame"
To help push their rush towards level 50, they said they bought Remote Raid Passes, Premium Battle Passes, and Lucky Eggs. Now that they've reached level 50 in Pokemon GO in less than a year, the player plans to "truly enjoy the events," rather than focusing on the XP reward. Pokemon GO players who reach level 50 like matthewormatt, get rewards such as Ultra Balls, Elite Charged TM, and an exclusive jacket to equip their avatar.
As well as becoming a more casual player, they said they will wait for the maximum level in Pokemon GO to increase. At the moment, level 50 is the maximum a player can go, although there are rumors about Niantic increasing the Pokemon GO level cap to 60. Until that happens, feats like this trainer's will continue to be impressive, as many Pokemon GO players take a long time to reach level 50, and some don't even come close after years of playing the game.
