Pokemon GO has announced the debuts of Hatenna, its evolutions, and Dynamax Beldum at the Psychic Spectacular event. Held every year since 2018, Psychic Spectacular is a Pokemon GO event that focuses on Psychic-types, which in previous years has marked the debuts of critters such as Shiny Drowzee, Gothita, Solosis, and Inkay.
Although only two types are weak against Pokemon GO's Psychic-types, these creatures stand out for being effective against different types, including the popular Dragon- and Fairy-type monsters. Over the years, Niantic has added a range of Psychi-type critters, including powerful names from Pokemon lore, such as Mewtwo, Hoopa, and Lunala. Now, the augmented reality game is expanding this list with more creatures that will soon be added in a new event.

Hatenna and its evolutions and Dynamax Beldum will be the next Pokemon GO debuts in the Psychic Spectacular event, which starts on September 18 at 10 am and ends on September 22 at 8 pm local time. Hatenna will appear in the wild, in 7 km egg hatches, and as a reward for a themed research task. Players will need 23 Candy to evolve the Hatenna into Hattrem, and 100 Candy to evolve Hattrem into Hatterene. Dynamax Beldum will be available in three-star Max Battles, with lucky players having the chance to find a shiny one.
Pokemon GO Psychic Spectacular Event Details
- Wednesday, September 18 at 10 am to Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 8 pm local time
- Wild encounters: Ralts, Spoink, Gothita, Solosis, Elgyem, Spritzee, Swirlix, Inkay, Morelull, Hatenna
- 7 Km egg hatches: Mawile, Chingling, Espurr, Hatenna
- Field research task reward encounters: Gothita, Solosis, Elgyem, Spritzee, Swirlix, Morelull, Hatenna
The event will feature encounters in the wild of ten critters, including Spoink and Gothita, while Espurr will be one of four critters possible to get out of the 7 km eggs. Field research tasks will reward encounters with Morelull and six other different monsters, and a new paid timed research available for $2 USD will reward trainers such as an encounter with Hatenna and 15000 XP. The event will give players double Stardust for catches, additional Candy for Nice Throws or better, and a chance of Candy XL for trainers level 31 or above who catch Pokemon with Nice Throws or better.
The Psychic Spectacular event is just one of the activities happening this month. With the start of the Max Out season, the augmented reality game will finally introduce Dynamax forms at the GO Out event on September 10-15. More Galar critters made their debut at the GO All Out event, which will end on September 10, while Falinks was the critter featured at Raid Day on September 8. GO Battle League has been updated with new cups and rewards for the current season, and Pokemon GO September Community Day has already been confirmed by Niantic.
