Niantic launched Pokemon GO on July 6, 2016, which means it's been nine years since the game came out. Of course, the gotta-catch-em-all simulator isn't making as much money as it used to, but there are still millions of players who are on the hunt for the next addition of Pocket Monsters, new raids, and whatever other events get added.

To celebrate the 9th anniversary of Pokemon GO, Niantic is throwing a big event, appropriately called the 9th Anniversary Party. There's a lot to go over when it comes to what the event brings to the table, but the key takeaways are..

The event lasts until July 6 at 8 PM.
You'll find Party Hats all over the field. They can be items or actual Pokemon with hats on them.
Field Research tasks are available, as well as Timed Research and Masterwork Research that leads to an encounter with a Shiny Jirachi, the legendary wish maker Pokemon from Gen 3.
You can find a Ghimmighoul holding a special 9th anniversary coin with the use of the Coin Bag. (To get a Coin Bag, you will need to send a postcard from Pokemon GO to Pokemon Scarlet/Violet).

9th Anniversary Party Event - All Party Hat Pokemon in Pokemon GO

Party Time

What you need to know is that during the event, you'll spot some Party Hats around the map. If you tap on it, the hat could end up being a spawn, or it could just be a Poke Ball, Great Ball, or Ultra Ball.

The four Pokemon that could spawn when you tap the hat are: Grimer, Eevee, Wobbuffet, and Wurmple. Other Party Hat Pokemon will appear as increased spawns, and we'll include the full list below:

For the first time, costumed versions of Ivysaur and Venusaur are available.
