A Pokemon GO player was incredibly lucky and captured special variants of Regigigas and Regirock back to back. Pokemon GO players encounter many critters in the wild, but when it comes to Legendaries, their availability is more limited, almost always locked to raid battles.
Regirock and Regigigas are two monsters introduced in Generations 3 and 4 that are part of the group of Pokemon known as the Legendary Titans. With designs reminiscent of a golem, Regigigas created the group that includes Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Regidrago, and Regieleki and is often considered its leader. Like the other Titans, the Normal-type Legendary has a pattern of dots on its forehead that resembles an arrow pointing upwards. Regirock, on the other hand, has a dotted pattern in the shape of an H and used to be worshiped by humans, until they began to fear its power and sealed it away. Showing incredible luck, one Pokemon GO player shared their lucky encounter with the duo.
Pokemon GO Quest Attempt Ends in Heartbreak
A Pokemon GO player tries to complete a complicated task, but their efforts end in tragedy because of a really simple detail.
On the Pokemon GO subreddit, user ciphershadowriley shared two incredible captures they got in a row: Shiny Shadow Regigigas and Shiny Shadow Regirock. The screenshots show an encounter with the Regigigas with a CP 2451, and the Regirock with a CP 1712. In the post, they explain that the Legendary duo's IVs “aren't very good,” although they didn't give any more details. Still, they were very happy, saying that it only took them "six or seven raids" to get these impressive acquisitions.
Pokemon GO Player Captures Special Variants of Regigigas and Regirock
Pokemon GO added Regirock in August 2018, with its shiny form debuting in November 2019 at the "A Colossal Discovery" event. Shadow Regirock's shiny form, meanwhile, was released in February 2025. Regigigas made its Pokemon GO debut in the "A Colossal Discovery" event, which, in addition to Regirock, featured Regice and Registeel. Its shiny form was added in June 2021 in the "Summer Solstice" event, while Shadow Regigigas' shiny form debuted in May this year in Regigigas Shadow Raid Day.
While the event featuring Shiny Shadow Regigigas has already come to an end, players still have the opportunity to get a Shiny Shadow Regirock. The Rock-type is available in weekend Pokemon GO Shadow Raids until June 1. For players looking to add even more Legendaries to their collections, new forms of Zacian and Zamazenta will debut during Pokemon GO Fest 2025, with Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta becoming available in the game for the first time.
