Pokemon fans have been a bit disappointed with the shiny rates during the Pokemon GO Mega Lucario Raid Day, but this player seems to have hit the jackpot as they have got the best of both worlds.
With the month of August about to kick off pretty soon, some exciting events are lined up for Pokemon GO fans. Be it Adventure Week or the return of the Team GO Rocket Takeover in Pokemon GO, players will be getting plenty of chances to get some new Pokemon and rewards. Amid that, one player seems to have caught an extremely rare Pokemon.
In a new post on the Pokemon GO subreddit, user Sky_Rider01 shares one of their best catches in the game. The player caught a shundo Lucario during the Mega Lucario Raid Day in Pokemon GO, which is an extremely difficult Pokemon to get. While the event boosted the odds of getting a shiny Lucario, several fans have been quite disappointed as they were not able to encounter a shiny Pokemon even after taking part in several raids. Some players who got their hands on the elusive shiny variant ended up with bad IV values, which made their Lucario not a viable one for battles. Considering that both raids and eggs have an IV floor, and Riolu or Lucario isn't available in the wild, this is the rarest variant in Pokemon GO.
Why Are Shundos So Rare In Pokemon GO?
Pokemon GO fans are always on the lookout for shundo Pokemon in Pokemon GO. Hundo is a term coined by the community for Pokemon which have perfect IV stats. This means, from 0 to 15, a Pokemon has 15 out of 15 on all three attributes: Stamina, Attack, and Defense. These Pokemon are extremely rare and are quite powerful for battles. When a hundo also happens to be shiny, it is known as a shundo. There are no specific improvements that a shundo gets over a hundo apart from being shiny. It's just the increased rarity and the bragging rights that make them so important.
Despite the resentment around shiny rates during the Mega Lucario Raid Day, fans did get some good rewards. For the first time ever, Niantic opened the floodgates and allowed players to get guaranteed Rare Candy XL from Pokemon GO raids. This became such a hit that fans want it to be a permanent feature going forward. While not everyone was able to get a shundo Lucario, the extremely valuable Rare Candy XL earned from the event still gave them plenty to be happy about.
