They shared a picture of their level-up screen upon reaching level 50 in Pokemon GO and added that they have been playing the game since 2016, the game's launch year. However, what's more impressive is the fact that they "almost never put any money in the game," as noted in their post. One of the biggest hurdles players face while leveling up is the XP requirement, which compels them to resort to microtransactions. For the record, just leveling up from level 49 to 50 requires a whopping 30 million XP.
Pokemon GO Fans Are Reluctant to Reveal Their In-Game Expenditure
The player also asked other players in the community how much they had spent in the game so far, and many were quite reluctant to reveal the exact amount. In fact, there seems to be a common consensus in the community that one should never ask a Pokemon GO player how much they have spent in the game, as they are often not proud of it. Many players noted that they had barely spent any money in Pokemon GO before 2020, but their expenditure in-game seems to have risen dramatically in the past few years. One player even hyperbolically stated that they have spent so much that Niantic should consult them before rolling out updates.
On the flip side, there are quite a few players who seem to be careful about their expenditures in-game and stated that they only spent money on a backpack upgrade or big event tickets, such as the GO Fest in Pokemon GO.
