Pokemon GO recently had its Pokemon GO Fest 2024 Global on July 13th and 14th. During the event, players were challenged to complete a specific number of challenges before the end of the event in order to unlock some Ultra Unlocks, which are events that players can play in due to unlocking them. The first Ultra Unlock was Better Together, the second one was Strength of Steel, and the last one is Mega Raid Day.
Every one of the Ultra Unlocks has brought a new Pokemon to Pokemon GO. The first one brought Tandemaus and Maushold to the game, the second brought a shiny version of Togedemaru, and this last Ultra Unlock is bringing a much beloved Pokemon to Mega Raids: Lucario. Here is a breakdown of everything happening during Mega Raid Day.
This event is only lasting one day, which is July 27th. The official time is Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. To 5:00 p.m. Local time.
Every Event Bonus In The Mega Raid Day Ultra Unlock In Pokemon GO
Most of the event bonuses are focused on different raid bonuses and Lucario bonuses. Here's a breakdown of all the free event bonuses.
- Mega Lucario will appear frequently in raids
- Receive up to five additional free Raid Passes
- Increased chance of encountering Shiny Lucario
- x1.5 more XP from Raid Battles
- Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from in-person Raid Battles
- The Remote Raid limit will be increased to 20 from Friday, July 26, at 5:00 p.m. To Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. PDT
Additionally, players can purchase an event ticket to get even more bonuses during the day. This ticket will cost $5.00 USD, and the bonuses will last Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. To 10:00 p.m. Local time.

- One guaranteed Rare Candy XL when catching Lucario

Lucario Mega Raid Details & Avatar Item
During the event, Mega Lucario will make its debut in the game and will be available via Mega Raids. Thankfully, the Pokemon can be shiny, so it will be worth it to try to get one if possible. Additionally, Mega Lucario will know Fast Attack Force Palm, which does 13 Power in Trainer Battles and 9 in Gym and Raid Battles. Finally, the event will add a Lucario mask to the avatar items in the game, but players will need to purchase the ticket if they want early access to the item.
