Pokemon GO developer Niantic has revealed that the Psychic-type Legendary Pokemon Necrozma will arrive as a new raid boss during Pokemon GO Fest 2024. Pokemon GO players may team up during the event to take on the new raid boss and potentially encounter a Shiny Necrozma.
The annual Pokemon GO Fest is typically held in multiple major cities around the world, allowing fans to meet up, participate in limited-time activities, and catch new Pokemon. This year's event will come to Sendai, Madrid, and New York City from May 30 to July 7. Fortunately, players from around the world may still participate in the Pokemon GO Fest 2024 festivities during the global event from July 13 to July 14. Global tickets are on sale for $14.99, giving players access to the event and its exclusive rewards, such as a Pokemon GO Fest 2024 T-shirt avatar item. What's more, players still have at least a month and a half to prepare for Pokemon GO Fest's new raid boss.
Niantic has confirmed that Necrozma from Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will appear at Pokemon GO Fest 2024, and the game's Twitter account gives a sneak peek of the Legendary Pokemon's in-game appearance. Niantic teases that the Pokemon's intentions are currently unknown. However, Legendary Pokemon are normally introduced as raid bosses in Pokemon GO, so players will likely need to team up against Necrozma sometime during the event. Niantic also teases that players should exercise extreme caution in the future since there will be a surge in wormhole activity at Pokemon GO Fest 2024.
Pokemon GO Confirms Raid Boss Necrozma for GO Fest 2024
The Legendary Pokemon's Pokemon GO move-set is unknown, but it will likely share similar traits and moves with Necrozma from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Depending on the raid boss' difficulty, players will need either a Pokemon GO Raid Pass, Remote Raid Pass, or EX Raid Pass to participate. If players are lucky, they may encounter and capture a Shiny Necrozma, which will likely be sought after in trades.
Niantic will likely share more details about Necrozma's arrival in Pokemon GO soon, including raid event bonuses and the Pokemon's move-set. Players may prepare for the upcoming Pokemon GO Fest activities by participating in Pokemon GO's April 2024 raids, which include Tapu Bulu and Mega Charizard x as raid bosses. Completing these raid encounters awards many useful items, such as Stardust, Revives, and Rare Candy, to name a few.
