Summary

  • The May GO Pass offers rewards like Stardust, XP, and an encounter with Yveltal from May 6 to June 3.
  • Trainers earn goodies by completing tasks to earn GO Points, and they can buy a deluxe pass for premium items.
  • The GO Pass is still in testing and not available to players in all regions.

Pokemon GO has announced the rewards of the May GO Pass. The pass is another part of Pokemon GO's monetization, which frequently gives new ways for players to obtain additional rewards, such as tickets and boxes.

After launching the Tour Pass for GO Tour: Unova, Niantic brought in a similar reward system and released the first GO Pass in April. Unlike the Power-Up Ticket, which is also released monthly and rewards players for specific activities, the GO Pass unlocks goodies for doing almost any in-game activity. For April, the biggest reward for players was encountering Xerneas, one of the Legendaries from Pokemon X and Y. With the announcement of the second GO pass, players will have another elusive pocket monster to catch.

The Lucky Trinket was introduced in GO Tour: Unova, and using this item, the trainer turns any friend on the list into a Lucky Friend. In this way, their next Trade will become Lucky Pokemon, and after that, the Lucky Friend status will be cleared. Regardless of the type of GO Pass they have, trainers will get rewards when they reach Major Milestones: Daily Incense Adventure with doubled duration (tier 1), extra XP and Stardust from Research Breakthrough rewards (tier 2), and additional Stardust and XP when hatching eggs. Players with a free or paid pass should also pay attention, as the rewards must be claimed by Thursday, June 5, at 10:00 a.m. Local time, when they will disappear forever.

It's important to note that the GO Pass is still in the testing phase, and although it's not available to all players, Niantic plans to expand this rewards system. While players wait for this expansion, May is approaching with events such as Crown Clash, which will mark Kingambit's debut in Pokemon GO, and an event featuring baby Pokemon.
