Niantic has revealed the title of the next season of Pokemon GO content. The announcement of Season 10, dubbed "Rising Heroes," will feature new Legendary Pokemon and more coming to the game in the next few months. Niantic also announced the first event of the season featuring Pokemon that match its theme.Pokemon GO has sneakily introduced many new features that shake up how players interact with the game. The introduction of Elite Raids, more frequent events with unique quirks, and its most recent connectivity with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet which allows Gimmighoul to be caught in Pokemon GO, has livened up the game in some parts. Though minor at first glance, Pokemon GO's latest season is set up to bring many of these additions to the forefront of the game's ongoing story.RELATED: New Peripheral Works With Pokemon GO and Pokemon Sleep Season 10: Rising Heroes teaser trailers released by Niantic hint at the Pokemon GO Teams playing a central role in the season. Starting on March 1, trainers can expect events during the season that will introduce two more members of the Legendary Titans in Regieleki and Regidrago in Elite Raids. The season trailer also features Meltan as new Pokemon getting XXS and XXL sizes and Melmetal as a Pokemon that may be caught from raids for the first time and getting the new move Iron Bash during this season. The end of the trailer also hints at something that can take down a tree in one clean cut without being seen, in what may be a tease for the next Mythical Pokemon introduced to Pokemon GO.

Rising Hero's first event is called the Catch Mastery event which features the signature Fighting-type Pokemon line of Tyrogue, Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, and Hitmontop. This one-day event on March 5, from 10 AM local time to 6 PM, will have increased Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan spawns, Hitmontop in Field Research tasks, and Tyrogue in 7Km eggs, all with increased shiny odds as trainers hone their catching skills for double XP rewards. This will be useful for Pokemon GO trainers still level grinding up to level 40 or those above that are knocking out the bonus requirements to get to level 50.

A one-day event featuring Pokemon that trainers already have is an interesting season-opening move in Pokemon GO. With themes of training the players catching ability, Niantic may be building up to a grand competition or event between the teams. With powerful Pokemon on the horizon, trainers may need each other more than usual in activities during the months ahead in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO is now available on Android and iOS devices.
