Pokemon GO's newest event is the Sinnoh Throwback Event, and it's part of the Throwback challenges for 2020. But some players seem to be having some trouble catching all the Sinnoh Ground type Pokemon that have appeared in game.
This event is for players to catch Sinnoh-region Pokemon. The event will be available from May 22nd to May 29th, and is filled with Sinnoh Pokemon of all varieties for players to nab for themselves. Also, there are several Sinnoh challenges which will allow players who complete them all to get a coveted Cresselia, who has the move Grass Knot, for their team. One of these challenges is grabbing a Ground-type Pokemon.
Ground Types
There are two Ground type Pokemon that can appear in the wild, which are Hippopotas and Gible. These two are extremely rare to see out and about in the open; however, there are several other ways to get an adorable Ground type Pokemon to fulfill this challenge.
Other Ways to Get a Sinnoh Ground Type
Lucky for Pokemon GO players, there are always more ways to get Pokemon without hoping one will spawn in the wild. GBL Reward Encounters can get players a Larvitar or a Stunfisk. Hippowdon can spawn from Tier 4 Raiding. And if players have some Magnetic Lures, they can draw in an Onix or Alolan Diglett to get for the challenge.
Another way to grab an automatic Ground type for the challenge is if players haven't finished the Hoenn challenge "Earn a Heart with Your Buddy." The reward for this challenge is a Marshstomp, which is Water and Ground type. This would complete the challenge for this week as well.
Also, keep in mind that Ground types are more likely to spawn in parks, woods, farms, parking lots, and hiking trails if players are still having some trouble finding them for themselves. Unlike catching Ghost type Pokemon, they don't have a specific time of day they like to spawn. Hopefully with all this information, players will be able to get a Sinnoh Ground type for themselves.
Pokemon GO is available for most mobile devices.
