Tuesday, August 15, 2023, marks the final day of the Pokemon GO World Championships event. During the festivities, trainers will see increased spawns from a shortlist of Pokemon from all different types of regions. The Fighting-type Pokemon, Machop, will appear more frequently in the wild, along with Chinchou, Wooper, Sableye, Meditite, Wooloo, Bunnelby, Drilbur, Scraggy, Onix, Lickitung, and last but not least, the dual Water/Ice-type Pokemon from the Hoenn region, Spheal.

Many players will have the opportunity to catch a ton of Spheal during this event, and it seems some trainers have been trying to search for information on this Pokemon, as well as its evolutions, Sealeo and Walrein. We'll go over how to catch Spheal, evolve it, and the best movesets for the evolutionary line.

How to Get Spheal and Evolve it Into Sealeo

Spheal will have an increased spawn rate until 8 pm local time on August 15. However, once the event is over, players will need to search for Spheal near the ocean or during Rainy/Snowy weather in Pokemon GO.

In order for Spheal to evolve into Sealeo, PoGo players must feed the Spheal 25 Candy, which can be earned by trading in duplicate Spheal to the professor, using Pinap berries during encounters, or making Spheal your Buddy Pokemon and go on walks with it.

And then, to evolve Sealeo into Walrein, trainers need to give Sealeo 100 Candy.

What are the Best Moves for the Spheal Line?

Here's a list of the best recommended moves for the Water/Ice-type line, Spheal, Sealeo, and Walrein:

The three Ice/Water-types from the Hoenn region will take extra damage from these elemental types:

  • Electric
  • Grass
  • Rock
  • Fighting

The three Pokemon are also resistant to Ice and Water-type attacks.

Some of the best (non-legendary) counters to bring into battle against Walrein (and Sealeo and Spheal) are as follows:

  • Lucario
  • Rampardos
  • Breloom
  • Conkeldurr
  • Machamp
