Pokemon Spotlight Hour is a weekly event in Pokemon GO that focuses on one specific Pokemon and increases its spawn rate for just a single hour. The Pokemon Spotlight Hours for March 2023 takes place every Tuesday from 6 pm to 7 pm local time. For that hour, not only will the Pokemon appear more often, as we mentioned, but there are also special bonuses. And these bonuses aren't just for catching the Spotlight Pokemon --it's earned when catching regular Pokemon GO spawns, too.
Eevee Spotlight Hour
The first Spotlight Hour for March has come and gone, but for those still wanting to know, the featured Pokemon was the first-gen Normal-type Pokemon, Eevee. The special bonus for the hour was double Transfer Candy. Pokemon GO players can transfer Pokemon in their inventory to make room for new catches. The candy earned can, of course, be used to power up or evolve stored Pokemon.
Can Eevee Be Shiny?
It's also worth noting that out of all four featured Pokemon for March 2023, Eevee is the only one that can be shiny.
Rowlet Spotlight Hour
The next Spotlight Hour is on March 14 at 6 pm, focusing on Rowlet, the Grass-type starter from Pokemon Sun/Ultra Sun and Pokemon Moon/Ultra Moon. The special bonus is double evolution XP.
Can Rowlet Be Shiny?
Rowlet cannot be shiny.
Litten Spotlight Hour
After Rowlet comes the Fire-type starter from the Alola region, Litten. The Spotlight Hour kicks off at 6 pm on March 21. This Fire Cat Pokemon can eventually evolve into Torracat and then Incineroar. The special bonus is double stardust for catching Pokemon.
Can Litten Be Shiny?
Litten cannot be shiny.
Popplio Spotlight Hour
And last but not least, we have the Water-type starter from Alola: Popplio. There's double catch XP during the Pokemon's special hour on March 28. Feed it candy to make it evolve into Brionne and then Primarina.
