While Galarian Pokemon are no strangers to Pokemon GO, the Max Out Season has several generation eight monsters, including the regional exclusive Stonjourner, making their debut. While most of the world will focus on catching the Galarian starters or hatching eggs to try and get the ultra-rare Dreepy, Stonjourner is the latest one that will appear only in one geographical area.
As the latest regional variant to appear in Pokemon GO, it's rather fitting that the Rock type that looks like the famous Stonehenge monument is exclusive to the country the Galar region is based on. It has access to a few key Rock-type moves and, with a decently high max CP, it could be a fantastic option for taking down tough legendary Pokemon in raids.

How To Get Stonjourner In Pokemon GO
According to the official Pokemon GO website, players in the United Kingdom may be able to encounter a Stonjourner out in the wild. However, regional spawn implementation in the mobile game makes precise locations a little more complicated to decipher. Luckily, we already know that Pokemon GO uses squares on the border of each region to distinguish where certain regionals appear.
One appropriate example of Pokemon that this happened to is Klefki, which appears in the southern parts of the United Kingdom due to how the borders work.
The image above shows the border where it's likely that Stonjourner will spawn, and it's similar to how you can find Klefki in Pokemon GO. While all of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland are confirmed to be covered, it's unclear if Stonjourner will appear in nearby overseas territories such as the Channel Islands.
In addition, the square borders indicate that the Rock-type Pokemon will spawn in the vast majority of Ireland as far west as Roscommon and Tipperary, meaning that fans in larger settlements such as Cork, Limerick, and Galway will need to travel east to find it. Finally, there's a very small part of France covered by the spawn square, namely the very western parts of the Pas-de-Calais and Somme departments.
Stonjourner's maximum Pokemon CP of 3638, combined with 222 ATK, 182 DEF, and 225 STA, make it a viable ally when taking down raids. While it only has access to one fast attack, Rock Throw, it does get access to the normal-type Stomp and both Rock Slide and Stone Edge as its Rock-type Charged Moves. That said, other than a new entry in the Pokedex, it's unlikely you'll use it in PvP outside the Great League, as better Pokemon are available.
Extra Tips for Finding Stonjourner
Despite appearing during the GO All Out 2024 event, there are no boosts to Stonjourner's spawn rate. However, in those spawn areas, using helpful Pokemon GO items such as Incense, Lure Modules, and the Weather Boost feature may increase your odds of finding one. We recommend you take these steps to increase your odds of finding this rocky Pokemon:
- Find a Pokestop within partially cloudy weather areas
- Attach a Lure Module to the Pokestop
- Activate a Pokemon GO Incense
- Walk around the area of effect until you find a Stonjourner
Pokemon GO: Can Stonjourner Be Shiny?
As Stonjourner is a brand-new Pokemon in Pokemon GO, it isn't one of the available shiny Pokemon released by the developers at Niantic during the Max Out season. While some Pokemon did historically have their shiny variants available from day one in the past, regional Pokemon don't tend to have their shinies available until that region's Tour event. It could, therefore, be a few years before we see shiny Stonjourner appear in Pokemon GO.
